email to director education regarding removal of alumni points

To,

Madam Padmini Singla,
Director Education (DOE)
Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
Civil Lines, Delhi-110054

Sub: Points under the Alumni category-reg.

Respected Madam,

First of all I want to give thanks for making guidelines for nursery admission which is very much appreciated. Now, I want to draw your kind attention towards the points being given to alumni category, which is totally against the law of natural justice.

1. Alumni points is completely illogical.

2. I feel, all schools where draw was for 75 pointers, approx 30-40% were alumni and it deprives of the chances of General category parents who will be having only 70 points and now these seats are confirmed for alumni after transfer cases are being put in 70 points.

3. The concept of Raja ka beta Raja should be abolished and equal opportunity should be given to all children.

4. If it is not possible to abolish the alumni points then some percentage of seats may be fixed for Alumni category to give ensure justice to the kids of 70 points.

Expecting your prompt action and favorable orders.

Regards,

friends i request all of u to send email to director education since few time is left to issue new guideliness please.

Please send this email to people concerned.

Dear Sumit -

I hope you will be able to take up this with as much fervor as the transfer points. I agree that the TP system was irrational. But this is much worse as it is simply UNFAIR.

It is creating an intellectual elite of parents who went to good quality schools and thus giving their children a pre emptive right to the same institutions. We over romanticise the idea of multiple generations in a family going to the same school. Instead, it is far more important to create a level playing field giving everyone an equal opportunity of getting into good schools.

Dear Madam / Sir,

On behalf of thousands of parents in Delhi, this is express my utter helplessness in respect of the ongoing nursery admissions in Delhi this year.
As parents, we have intellectual and financial capability of providing the best education possible in Delhi for our son. Yet, we are completely at the mercy of a lottery system. Even that would be fine, provided it was a level playing field for parents and was not subjected to multiple criteria.
I understand that you are taking off the interstate transfer points. In the same stroke, I strongly request you to strike off the sibling and alumni points as well. It furthers the divide between the "haves and have nots" and keeps children of parents like us who have moved or went to lesser schools away from good quality schools in their neighborhood for absolutely no fault of theirs. In addition, I fail to see the rationale of an alumnus's daughter having the first right to his parent's school. I went to an IIM and I hope my son gets an admission there as well - but not because I am an alumnus.
This will create a level playing field - which is a clear need of the hour. As you know, this is also the global trend - where only distance from the school is the key criteria of shortlisting.
I hope you will consider our request.
Yours sincerely,
Gaurav
Sibling point should not be removed. Its easier and always better to send both kids to same school. First time parents should understand this as next time if they go for their second kid ... they would bear the burnt that time.
Moreover kids to get a support system when you have both studying in same school, have we not had more confidence when we as sisters and brothers used to go same school.

well said vinay he applied from 3 directions from delhi and his case was submitted as example to court of higher fraud

just sent another mail to DoE regarding removal of alumni only.

Remove Sibling and Alumina Points from the Nursery admission.....

friends i wrote mail about only to remove of alumni, i did not mention abt sibling since i dnt think that sibling could be removed ... what you say...

Sibling point should not be removed...... we have to understand sending both kids to same school is always convinient, economical and make sense. imagine attending two PTMs in two differnt school same day and what if they allot same time.... how do we give importance. We have to look at broader side.... today those who are having first kid, when they would want there second one to be admitted (unless all in forum with first child pledges not to have anymore kids ;-) )  would understand the pain.

I hope lots of people will agree with me....  There can be 5 points for first child instead of alumni or transfer cases.... but sibling points should not go.

Sibling point is require due to ground facts and people cannot misuse sibling quota.. I never opposed sibling quota and to my mindset it is a real need.
sibling points is fully justified but alumni has no reasoning so it should be removed.. i repeat raja ka beta raja concept should be removed

Urge all to send mail to DOE for non removal of alumni point...why the hell then ewa quota..let them come if they have the might in a level playing field that has no reservations
