A SUGGESTION TO ALL SCHOOLS AND DIRECTORATE OF EDUCATION (AFTER RESULTS)

A SUGGESTION TO ALL SCHOOLS AND DIRECTORATE OF EDUCATION (FOR FUTURE) :

eg.        THE INDIAN SCHOOL                  THE FOUNDATION SCHOOL
             TIMINGS : 0700 TO 1200 hrs      TIMINGS : 1200 TO 1700 hrs

THESE SCHOOLS RUN IN THE SAME PRIMISES WITH DIFFERENT TIME SLOTS

IN THE SAME SPACE AVAILABLE SCHOOL HAS PROVIDED A MODEL TO DOUBLE THE NO. OF SEATS AVAILABLE, WHICH AS PER ME SOLVES THE CURRENT PROBLEM TO QUITE AN EXTENT.

LEARNINGS :

1. MAKE ALL SCHOOLS TO HAVE TWO SHIFTS OPERATIONS (MANDATORY).
2. SECOND SHIFT FEES MIGHT BE KEPT ON A LOWER SIDE.
3. IF THE SCHOOL DOSEN'T WANT TO OPERATE SECOND SHIFT AUCTION THE BID TO RUN THE SECOND SHIFT, FOR WHICH REVENUES CAN BE SHARED BETWEEN TWO PARTIES MAY BE WITH SOME AID IF NEEDED BE PROVIDED BY EDUCATION MINISTRY.

OUTCOMES :

1. EMPLOYMENT FOR SEVERAL ASPIRING TEACHERS.
2. RUSH FOR THE ADMISSION PROCESS REDUCES SUBSTANTIALLY.
3. THERE ARIVES A EQUILIBRIUM BETWEEN DEMAND AND SUPPLY EQUATION.
4. FAIR COMPETITION BETWEEN VARIOUS SCHOOLS.
5. PARENTS HAVE MORE OPTIONS TO CHOOSE BETWEEN, WITH ADDED BENEFIT OF FLEXIBLE SCHOOL TIMINGS.

WHY CAN'T WE HAVE ALL THIS FROM THIS SESSION (MAY BE SESSION STARTS A LITTLE LATER)

@Shaurya Bhardwaj....

About the second shift I have already mention many times earlier in this forum since I joined..but only got negative comments from lots of parents.....Many said that this is delhi not US...the traffic rash in more in the evening..they will be lots of chaos when the first shift end and second starts......and blr..blr...

But now when the people have really understood that the root cause of all this to lack of supply...maybe many will come forward....

Definitely we should move forward and approached the concerned people and request to start the same from this session....no issue if it will start after summer vacation also.....

Instead of going to HC for self interest....we can go for a mass benefit.....

Out of people suggested for second shift, how many are willing to send their kids in second shift?? Please reply

I don't want to send my daughter to school in second shift.

Dear Mr. Mukesh

I am ready to send my child to second shift so are many parents.

Anyways something is better than nothing

Choices may vary and are personal in nature as is work environment, work nature and timings of parents. These days we are working at different time slots, why can't it be so with education. After all we are not seeking any night schooling its just that two slots of 0700 to 1200 hrs and 1200 to 1700 hrs. To me it seem not to trouble much.

Something might be right for some.

Thanks

@M/S Indu Das

Here we are talking future of atleast 50000 kids who without this option go without admissions or else admitted to below par schools, we may take extra pain or adjustments for sake of our kids.

When a bulb was invented, people asked what we achieved by lighting this small area. But the answer is more tangible now, so is the case with all inventions. Outcomes are best tought by future, we can just try and to me it seems the only possible solution.

Lets have the foresight.

Thanks

WELL SAID

i filled up the form of the foundation school, knowing well that it was a second shift school. and many more parents filled up this schools form. second shift is better if in a good school than sending your beloved kid to govt schools!!!

@Dr. Samar Shadab

I guess its intentional at the end of DOE and Govt. Mind us only the gap between demand and supply has created this scenario which better serves corruption.

Who is going to give importance (huge money) to all such creators of evil if all is settled.

I smell artificial scarcity is being created to allow growth of corruption.

Else a novice minds like us have solution to the trap we all are caught in.

I don't have any issue in sending my ward in second shift......Maybe many of us will send if all the well established schools start .

If all the DPS starts a second shift ..all those who are against ....will be the first one to apply....thats for sure...

EXCELLENT SUGGESTION

Some suggestion shud b welcomed like this one, instead of creating obstacles we shud b part of solution.I am ready to send my only son to second shift in a good school instead sending him in
An average or blow l, or govt school,or waiting to turn all the lights green.
@ Samar: I also filled the foundation school form. But that was just out of the mad form-filling spree.
I definitely will not send my child to evening school.

@Shaurya:
It's true that DoE Has allowed second shift. But are you expecting the second shift to run for the full 12 year span? Even Indian school couldn't risk that much (- Foundation is only for junior grades.)
So essentially, your solution is not a solution - but a convenient postponement of the problem - Two Major Fallouts will happen if all schools follow a foundation school model:

1. At the end of this 'junior school' term, pArent community will again be forced into competition for limited seats for their kids at senior school level - and our kids would obviously be older and wise enough to surely realise their own plight- why should we add to the trauma? Atleast now these kids are too young to be part of the suffering

2. If the Foundation School Model runs full 12-year course, how many of us would be willing to let a child go to school "forever" in the afternoon and return late evenings? Most of us Delhites are working couples- how do we expect a child to handle the mid-day start of a day!? Leave that aside: We've had conventional schooling, been used to normal life; early-to-bed/early-to-school. How can we force our kids to spend their entire childhood abnormally?! And most importantly : do you think this system won't create another caste-system of its own? Parents would fight for the regular shift of top schools EVEN Then, just as we have a ranked hierarchy of A-list and B-list schools.
Do you think the evening shift system of Delhi University Colleges has the same quality of students/ teachers/ education?! NO WAY!

There are enough schools and enough kids to fit them - we are not the first set of parents to have our kids join nursery in The great city of Delhi. More than 90% children will eventually get a school this session itself, like in all previous years -others will still find one by next year at worst case scenario. The schooling system is fine, and we will be fine; All we need is patience and faith.

So PUHLEEZE : let's not go insane and start re-inventing the Wheel.
