Hindustan Times 16 Apr - Parents confused as few schools open gates for nursery children
NURSERY ADMISSION ACTIVIST SUMIT VOHRA HAS FILED A COMPLAINT AGAINST 10 SCHOOLS THAT STARTED CLASSES ON TUESDAY
NEW DELHI: Confusion among parents over the admission process increased as only a few schools in the national capital started classes for nursery on Tuesday.
The Directorate of Education (DoE) issued an order on Tuesday evening, citing the Supreme Court’s (SC) stay on the admissions. However, there is ambiguity over what the SC order dated April 11 exactly meant.
One set of legal experts claim that the order does not stop the admission process and that schools are free to start classes. The other group says the apex court has put a stay on the entire process and starting classes will amount to contempt of court.
Sumit Vohra, nursery admission activist, has filed a complaint against 10 schools, which started their classes on Tuesday. However, he is unclear if any action will be taken against them.Hindustan
“With so many orders being passed, our course of action has become unclear. Lawyers have not been able to interpret the SC order,” said a DOE official.
After the high court (HC) had said that admissions under the first list could take place, the directorate on April 4 had passed an order that the admissions had to be completed by April 9 and schools were free to start classes from April 15.
This DOE order finds no mention in the Supreme Court directive, but a clear go-ahead has not been given either.
The high court has scheduled a hearing into the matter on Wednesday. It had asked parents whose wards were selected in the first list to get their admissions done by April 9. It had also asked all schools to provide admissions details to the DoE by April 12 so that they could be submitted to the court on Wednesday. Many schools have not submitted the admission details to the DoE, despite a reminder.

Sakhshi Ji,
I have blocked the seat and deposited fees in GD Goenka which includes Tuition Fees and Transportation for April 2014 as well. Since it’s clear now that the session will not start this month, so should I ask school to adjust the same to the month when the session will actually commence?
Plz advice.
Amit
Wait till SC hearing on 21 Apr.
