Classrooms empty but schools are paying teachers, maintaining infrastructure

Their children may not have started school yet but parents of tiny tots are having to worry about their school fee already.
SONU MEHTA/HT FILE PHOTO Schools in Delhi will soon close for the annual summer break in the second week of May. Children will be able to start classes only in July.

The children may start nursery classes in the coming week, or what seems more likely, after the summer vacations, but parents will have to pay the fee for the entire quarter.

And it is not the fault of the schools either. While children usually start school in the first week of April, the long-drawn litigation has meant that classrooms have remained empty so far. The schools, however, have not stopped paying their teachers or eliminated the infrastructure that comes along with running the classrooms.

After Monday’s deferral, the final decision on the nursery admission process is expected on Wednesday. It is only after that that schools will start the second draw of lots to fill up the vacant seats. While a few schools have started classes already, a large number of seats still remain vacant.

The second phase of the admission process is likely to start by the end of this week or early next week. Schools usually close for summer break in the second week of May. The children, therefore, are expected to start school only in July now.

“This is a very peculiar situation where we will have to pay the fee even when our children have not started school. My daughter is still in play school and if the school demands the entire fee, I will have to pay double,” said Amit Yadav, a resident of Rohini.

According to the directorate of education, they have not yet decided on a road map for the fee.

“We are focussing on getting the admission process started as of now. Even when we discuss the issue of fee, we have to recognize that schools are still paying the teachers and are managing the infrastructure. We will have to think about the issue after proper consultation,” said Padmini Singla, director, education.

Good one dr samar maam.... he is representative of schools or he has no concern for parents problem... coz as he said in one of his post that his kids had done with his education 10 years ago....

By the way we all need a school representative here to make this discussion neutral. WE PARENTS ARE NOT LIKE THE SCHOOLS... WHO NEVER CARE FOR KIDS AND PARENTS

At times we put our problems over others and overlook everything. So is the case with us. No concern for others. And if still others overpower us, we feel unjust with ourselves. We almost forget the Super Soul who never allows every feeling unnoticed and unrewarded and does justice to all.

We are so selfish that even we blame the super soul as well if things are done in favour of us knowing the fact also. Soul never allows us to commit a sin and still we commit - sometimes knowingly and sometimes unknowingly. The first kind of sin is to be termed as ignorance. Whether one is ready to received the punishment or not, the super soul will have to deliver it to the sinner.

Thanks all risha sunny dr samar arti.... you kept and raised this issue strongly against some person who is representative of goon schools...i was out side And was not online

@Dr.Anjali

hmm ... my guess is 10  (plus / minus may be 1)

Mr Maharam

We parents dont want to listen anything true if somebody tells the truth with his prior exp then he is wrong. We always have negative thing why not admission, why not refund the fees , why IST cases ,only why why why.. Earlier Years this forum is for to share the exp. now this forum is for blaming everything

Sry to everybody but this is true we all are selfish .

Very true puneet sir

Everyone blaming schools. Now let us know how many PILs were filed by schools?

Puneet, you are right and I agree with your words, "This is true we all are selfish".

Unless parents prove my comments wrong, I am not going to leave this forum. I invite parents to prove me wrong and if anyone succeeds, I will immediately vanish off this forum till next session's guidelines. Request all to do so only till 10 am tomorrow.

All these persons are having teachers background to some extent. Books are written by teachers and sent for publishing to publishers. All other groups are also teacher supported groups. The books of modern day teachers are getting rejected time n again because of their quality.

Still majority will opt for books written by old age writers and stories/poems of ancient/bhakti yug poets. All this is because of the quality focused on children grooming.
