Nursery Admission Clarification

Can anyone confirm me that,

Is there a compulsion to send our kid to play school like Mothers pride or anywhere else before admission to nursery?

Because i have seen some school websites where its mention to provide proof of early education as document for nursery admission..

So please confirm, because i m not sending my child to any play school..
