Atleast the admission form dates & the result(list of selected child) date should be same.its truely unfair that the schools are giving different dates.

FIRST OF ALL THERE SHOULD BE A COMMON CALANDER FOR ADMISSION..some schools have started others are yet to start..this makes very uncomfortable situation for parents..NEIGHBOURHOOD should be given maximum points some schools like springdales are offering only 20 points even for the nearest area..MANAGEMENT QUOTA SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY BANNED( i mean the DONATION QUOTA) schools are going to indulge in this they are going to admit many students through this backdoor

Common dates. As lot of schools are coming up wit their list in 1st or 2nd week of jan and there r so many schools which plan to start wit forms om January

For safety reasons, especially the direction the law and order has taken in this city, neighbourhood and sibling should be primary criterias, followed by gender equality and right to education, i.e, girl child and first born, followed by schools' desire to create role models and a large fraternity, i.e, alumni, and eventually in national interest of population control, ie, negative points for 2nd sibling and beyond. No. of points can vary, and my suggestion is as follows:

Distance: 60Pts (0-3Km), 50Pts (3-6Km), 40Pts (6-10Km)

Sibling: 20Pts for 1st sibling, Negative 20 Pts for more than 2 children

Girl Child: 10Pts

First Born: 20Pts, same number of points as sibling

Alumni: 10Pts

This allows the schools to have kids from the catchment only (they have 25% mgmnt quota for whatever they want to do, and parents safety for their children, and an option to exit from the rat race of sending the kids to select schools by pressurising the neighbouring school to do the required to become a leading school (including creating a strong frat).

My inputs are:

1) Common calender which must be published atleast 3 weeks in advance. (form out date, last date of submission, first list, fees deposit deadline, second list,)

2) Neighbour hood points should be in slabs, preferable 4. (0-3,3-6,6-9,9-12)

3) Schools must disclose the number of sections to be made. It will clear the class strength

4) Schools must declare the applicable fees for complete session.

5) Some time period (minimum 10 days) should be defined during which if parents withdraw admission then there is full refund.

6) Management quota / Staff quota should be filled by first list, with details made public, thereafter vacant seats in any category should be offered to general category in second list.

7) Neighbour hood distance should not be judged by bus route but by some more authentic source like google.

8) Rent agreement of atleast 6 months old supported by electric / mtnl / water bill should be acceptable, and declaration should be asked from parent that in case they leave the said address before next two sessions then the neighbour hood points will reevaluated as per new address and if found less, then admission could be cancelled.

9) Online issue of forms should be compulsion, however, submission mode could be school specific.

10) Forms @ 25 fix. No other mode of asking payment in name of registration / prospectus etc.

11) KG admissions should be done along Nursery admission with same schedule and guidelines.

12) Age criteria should be same for all schools

13) School timings should be published and Nur-Kg classes timings must be different from other classes by a gap of atleast 20 minutes. e.g regular school time 8 to 1. Nur -Kg 8:30 to 12:30. Many schools have starting time same for all classes and this is inconvienient for little ones to face the rush through school gates and corridors.
