HI ALL

I HAVE APPLIED FOR ALMOST 15 SCHOOL IN NORTH DELHI, MY SON DID NOT GOT NAME IN WAITING ALSO. THIS IS VERY DIS HEARTENING FOR BOTH OF US . I DON'T KNOW NOW WHAT SHOULD I DO OR TO WHOM I SHOULD APPROACH. AS FAR SECOND LIST IS ABOUT TO COME ,MOST OF PEOPLE ARE SAYING ONLY WAITING STUDENTS NAME WILL CONFIRM. IS ANYBODY CAN HELP WHICH REALLY WORK FOR MY CHILD S ADMISSION. AS LIKE EVERY PARENT I ALSO DON'T WANT TO WASTE HIS ONE YEAR.

Delhi Nursery admission the schools have kept minimum points for distance of 8kms. There should be some benefits for children staying near to some school, like <1 kms getting maximum points like N K Bagrodia. I and a person staying 8kms away is given same points, which is not fair. We have shifted to the area so that child gets a higher chance, but due to 6km 8 km criteria we are at no benefit

Agreed, but schools have Autonomy to fix distance criteria given by Hon' HC.

Completely agree to this. Their should also be a guideline of what will happen to the kids who could not secure a seat in any DOL not even in waiting list. Right to Education is every child's basic right. Just because the luck didn't click in Draw, doesn't mean we should be paying abstract money to schools or then just wait for another year for this to happen all over again. My points are very clear:

1. Why do schools have right to give edge to children of Alumi in terms of points. If I was not born in Delhi or not educated in Delhi school doesn't mean that is a fair criteria to give some else an edge. The only criteria's allowed should be distance and siblings as siblings yes should be brought up in same schools for parents ease.

2. If schools already have reserved management seats as much as 20%-25% of total seats, why again give an edge to Staff children in points. Staff should get their wards admitted as per management seats. Either have a MQ or have staff points. Why both?

3. Why at all have this MQ. If yes, limit this to 5-7% why as much as 20-25% when all know these seats will be sold like a End of Season Sale to the parents in despair who could not get any luck due to point system flaws.

Don't know if for my daughter, I'll have any benefit from this discussion but at least someone should work on these points for future.

Very Valid points.

Unless Delhi School Education Act 1973 gets amended , nothing can be done.( Needs to be passed in parliament but due to political reasons pending from 2015)

All issues have been raised but schools misuse their autonomy.

Chk here.

See above reply.

Totally concur with Mr.Sumit Vohra. Director has lost trust in his leadership, management and accountability and has to be replaced.  Any of the issues raised by Mr.Vohra in behalf of parents was not resolved. If there is no strong system in place , how can we expect transparency in education?

I totally agree with the above observations. Schools should give maximum points to applicants living in the school's vicinity and less points to other criteria. They should set distance criteria such that their own school buses are plying on those routes and parents don't have to rely on private cabs and autos as transportation alternatives.
But most of the east delhi schools are just giving 30 to 40 points under distance criteria.

I agree with the above views that staff children should be admitted under management quota only and no extra points should be given them as 25% seats are a lot to admit 1 or 2 school staff children requiring nursery admission.

I appreciate the policy of ASN SR SEC and ASN INTERNATIONAL schools . They are prominent schools in east delhi. They gave 20 points to sibling and 20 points to first born child bringing both at par. Also they gave 10 points to alumni and 10 points to parents who are proficient in some extra curricular activity like sports, music etc again bringing them at par. Though the distance criteria was a wide range- 40 points for everyone within 10 kms.
Also they keep you updated about the admission process by regular sms, mails and also were quick to post the lists as per the guidelines which other schools didn't even bother to do.
In comparision, MAYO INTERNATIONAL school has not updated its website. They have 1 general form to be filled and submitted online leaving parents wondering as to whether the form has been submitted or not. They give you registration no. after 20- 25 days. Their website doesn't show any list/ results. They just send 1 sms mentioning the link to results on 24th january.

In this technology savy era, when schools are making online registration and fees deposition mandatory, they should also keep parents updated about the admission process through sms/ mail and timely post theresults on their websites.
