Hi Everyone
Good Morning !
We attended the School's Exhibition yesterday @ Epicenter
Feedback FYR-
KUNS-SCAPS-SKOLAN - is following online learning, they have JV with some Education S/w co, hence no text-books, everythi is taught online, with access given to parents to chk on what is being taught on daily basis. Ratio 1:20
Board- CBSE
+ve - (1) very advanced way of teaching, high on english speaking, teachers are modern world thinkers (2) Day Care facilility available for Nursery/KG till 6.30 pm (for working parents)
(3) each kid is considered as an individual, and focuses on indvidual kid teaching.
-ve - (1) high on pocket - 1.4L is initial pay-out 2L is annual tuition fee (2) infrastructure is not completely ready, only 2 floors functional, rest under-way. Swimming Pool etc is part of the plan not ready yet
MANAV RACHNA - botht the campuses are run by 1 principle, infra is good, they have tied up with Paragon (UK learning co) This tie-up introduces step-by-step experiential learning + offers Teacher Development Training Prog (so teachers will be trained to follow this)
Board-CBSE
AMITY GLOBAL SCHOOL - IB school, running since 4-5 years, introducing primary classes now, new campus, Age Criteria is attractive -kids who have completed 3 years currently are eligible to join Nursery Classes starting Sep 2013 (so you save an year!)
SHIKSHANTER - old school of thought, brags about good teachers, infra is avg,
Holistic Approach is there, Board is ICSE
the director himself said - CBSE has come a long way in last 5 years, ICSE is getting there !
GD GOENKA WORLD SCHOOL - high on fees, the team at the stalls did not tell us anyth about the uniquness of the education methodology etc. only briefed us saying admissions are on first come first basis, register+interaction+pay-up. seemed like a business call !
INDUS VALEY - everything good, day care facility is icing on the cake for working parents.
CBSE Board, OK Fee Structure, Great Campus, Experiential Learning with focus on ECA.
NOTE- drawback of IB schools - applying to Delhi Univ etc is a problem, most univ still dont recognise these Boards and prefer CBSE/ICSE etc. parents with clear vision of ending their kids abroad for higher learning should only apply.
hope the above was helpful to all the readers.
Pleasure- Shikha
Shikha,
Your feedback is surely a good one. Especially the +ves & -ves of IB. Yes i do agree that CBSE is the safest option for parents who dont have any plans as if now for sending their children aborad for further studies.
May be we can have more details liek fee structure, facilities etc. in Indus valley school & exactly at what place is this school.
Overall a nice feedback.
Hey ajay
no Offense, you dont have to beleive what I worte.
Clarifying - Infra of Indus Valey is good from Nursery perspective :)

Rohan
Excellent writeup Shikha, should be very helpful to parents! Thanks
Hi,
Did anybody had interaction today in DPS Sushant Lok?
Which type of iteraction they are having?
Which type of questions they generally ask?
Does anybody have idea about their interaction even anybody have any idea about their last year interaction.
Just an update - after visiting various schools, visiting the expo, matching their distance from home, we have finalized Maurya School (Palam Vihar) -
+ ve's are -
- under a KM from home. Goenka, DPS SL are 10+ kms's from home.
- Completely AC campus + AC Buses - Similar to GOenka - DPS SL doesn't have it
- With more or less the same features as DPS SL/ Goenka, i'll be paying way less.
- Less or negligible transport costs
The only negative I have heard so far is that it's been rated very poorly here on the forums - I am not sure on what grounds - academic ? Infra ?
anyways, as parents you'll have to spend considerable time and efforts in their studies - and if the effort is approx the same across schools, then why not choose the one which is nearest to home ! :)
Hello Puneet,
What is fee structure of this school. & is it CBSe or ICSE?
Rohan
It's CBSE - fees is 20K admission + 6K refundable - totals to 26K
Then 17K per quarter for tution(including meals) + 16K yearly to be paid in April.
Puneet,
my niece studies in Maurya and we are not satisfied with this school. Quality of teachers is a challenge and they keep on changing very often. we are planning to change her school in next session.
