I personally don't like this Neighbourhood criteria.. this means child living far doesn't have chance to good school..
Also firstly LVIS admission form stated that they will be having interaction but they did not.
@ Seema LVIS did have interactions, I know people who have got the call for the same.
Though they have not been very transparent in the whole admission process, at the time of the form submission, they said they would call between 5th and 10th Sep'13 and now on 3rd Sep'13 they have released the list with distance being the only apparent criteria of selection !!
Hi Seema,
I am also trying to reconcile the two, maybe what they mean is that they did the 1st shortlist basis distance/neibhbourhood and then only called those parents for interaction
I agree, they should have been transparent right from the start.
Yes she did
We went for the interaction in LVIS and it was actually a group interaction where 7-8 parents were sitting with the principal. It was more of a lecture and some things the principal wanted to state rather than an interaction. The principal did say at that time that her criteria is neihbourhood and she asked each parent how far they stayed.
I agree with you seema and Anisa they are not transparent. It's really very shocking
I also agree...its more like making money by selling forms and not telling it in advance...
Yah tats right. Ideally speaking cost of registration form should be very economical so that everyone may fill the form.
Hi Neelam,
But I am sure now you will hear a lot negative about LVIS after what they have done with regards to the admission procedure....
Seems there management was not clear as to what criteria they should fix for admission and so they kept changing from first cum first serve to questionnaire shortlisting and finally distance......
Had they already told about this distance criteria most of the people would not have taken forms.....
they have just minted money by selling forms....
@ Neelam...every school needs a criteria to shortlist..its just that if LVIS had been transparent and indicated and then stuck to the criteria there wouln't be all these negative comments on the blog.
If distance was the criteria then a lot of parents who lived far away would not have pined their hopes on it.
