But this year parents were called for interaction. The LVIS form also had a long list of qs that were to be answered, Suncity did the same..only diffrence being that they asked both parents to come in and answer on the spot whereas in the LVIS qst you could answer at will..
No one is targetting LVIS, the negative comments have only started because they did not maintain teh transparency in their selection criteria. Had they upfronted the distance/neighbourhood criteria faraway parents would not have even applied!

With other schools parents knew/know what they were getting into,with LVIs they did not

@ Sonia..we have all already discussed that all schools have their own shortlisting criteria but at least the maintain consistency which LVIS has not
They first said it is on FCFS basis
Then they said it is basis internal selection criteria
Then they said it is neighbourhood
First they said that they will start calling parents from 5th Sep'13 onwards and then they announced and closed the list on 3rd itself

They should have disclosed this criterion at time of advertisement.

Yes. If only neighborhood had to be the criteria they would not have encouraged the parents to buy forms at the first instance which did not meet the criteria....Demonstrates the money making mindset...

Yes Sonia you r write. ur kid in LVIS that why u r on LVIS side. but pls read all comments carefully and read LVIS admission procedure on different dates. all schools r saying abt their admission procedure before selling forms. DPS has lottery, DAV point system, SH has FCFS and they following it. if some body likes their procedure he/she can fill otherwise not. but LVIS is changed their admission procedure two times from the advt. to final admission which is not right. my home is around 13km from LVIS, if they mentioned it first that distance is the only criteria then why I fill the form as i know it sought after school their are many people who live close to school.

I understand the anguish of parents over LVIS but after having read the comments I wanted to share that LVIS's internal screening did have a neighbourhood criteria but it wasn't the only criteria as two of my society members were not called for interaction. So, apart from the distance, other factors must have been considered as well (parents professional qualification etc). Secondly, as for the interaction, we were called in groups of 7-8 where we met the principal who asked the distance in km from each of us. She said she feels that such young babies should not be subjected to too much travelling. After that she invited the queries and answered them. She said at this young age, children should not be judged so everybody of us is welcome ( somewhat contrary to the receptionist who said today that not everybody who was called for interaction is admitted) So, that's that. I feel after all said and done, every school screens parents; only LVIS did so with tactlessness that's why the hoopla. At least, LVIS has not been rude. First come first served is the silliest possible criteria (as in SH) according to me. It's just that parents expect this highheadedness from SH like schools but they never expected it from LVIS that's why the angry reaction. Even my neighbour told me that she had thought that 'LVIS mein toh ho hi jayega'
