No pratibha still going for intreactions

how about your result in balbharti brij vihar?
Yes play schools provide maid in their cabs as the kids are very small and most of them do not even speak clearly. Also cab is new for them. But by the time kids start going to nursery school they will be used to cabs as they spend almost 10 months in play school.
you can think that way.by d way wht is d age of your child. mine is too small she is 3feb 11.so if u think u r ok with this is upto u.
moreover in my views for small child in this age safety is most important. this school has no responsibility towards transportation. we all know very well that how much girls r safe. so i cant take chance with d safety and security of my child.

My daughter's birthday is 12th feb 2011. I booked her seat in BBPS today. I specially asked about the security of kids and was very much satisfied by their answer. I have no doubts. Good luck to you.

Hi Fellow Parents,

After spending last 2 months researching on the schools both through online and offline (school visits, interacting with parents etc) mediums. Here is what my conclusions (totally personal opinion, limited to school evaluated) on the rankings of the schools are

Conventional Schools

Amity > DPS Noida > APJ > Somerville

There is not much difference between DPS Noida and Amity. I have personally ranked Amity higher because of their better infrastructure and flexibility to change with the changing world.

New Age Schools

SBS> LVIS > Global Genesis  > GIIS > Pathways> Kothari > DPS 132> Shiv Nadar> Shriram Millenium

SBS is a leader and rest of all are comparable and one can opt for one or the other without losing much

In any case I would suggest not to place too much value on current ranking. As by the time your child comes out of the school this may be totally different. So while evaluating different schools you should think about what will happen to the education in 10 years from now and which schools are better suited for that?

We as of now have selected LVIS (as SBS doesn't seems to be opening admission this year). Now to dwell a bit on our selection process. We started with Amity, DPS Noida and SBS as our first preference. However this changed when we visited these schools.  We went for first interaction in Amity and didn't like the class room or the general hygiene (mosquitoes were having a free run). We got shortlisted for second round but didn't attend, didn't attend first round of APJ and didn't apply to DPS Noida and Somerville. We decided that we would get our child admitted in New Age schools rather than the conventional schools. The reasons were better infrastructure; less pressure on child, holistic education, suited better to the changing world

Coming to the new age school we rejected GIIS (ongoing construction); Global Genesis (lack of bigger ground), pathways (teachers attitude) DPS 132 (more to do with branding; if you have to choose a DPS then go for the best DPS), Kothari (school timings), Shriram Millenium (lack of sports infrastructure; other wise probably have the best teachers and teaching methodology), Shiv Nadar (it may develop into a very good school but you have better options as of now)

To the people who are worried about not being shortlisted in Amity and APJ. I would suggest visit some of these new age schools. You may end up liking one of them and admission there is not that difficult and they are normally admitting students till february

Hi Vikas

to your comment "while evaluating different schools you should think about what will happen to the education in 10 years from now and which schools are better suited for that?", i would like to say that nobody has seen the future so everyone takes steps based on what is in present and/or the past records.

But that's my opinion only, maybe others can support you.

HI Vishal G , I strongly agree with your view point and I suppose scenario will be completely changed after 10-12 yrs for job market and profession .
I was also thinking the same as today is of Amity,DPS ,APJ but tomorrow will be of LVIS,SBS, G D Goenka ,Genesis ,GIIS etc....
As they are planning education keeping in mind the future aspects .
I suppose after 10-12 yrs scenario will be reversed (there will be mad rush to these schools instead of traditional schools e.g DPS,Amity,Bal Bharti ,APJ etc)..
I suppose schools needs to update and adopt changes .

These new age schools have definitely better student/teacher ratio. This should normally translate in better education.

Having said that it is very difficult to judge any school without seeing final product. On academic front most of the schools still have to prove. By saying holistic education they have actually removed themselves from academic race of schools. That is OK. But now how would you measure these schools now on quantitative measure. Holistic growth is very subjective subject and difficult to measure. So actually success of students will be only measure. Success could be in traditional fields, academic, sports, innovation, entrepreneurship, art or any new field.

These things will become clear when batches studied in these schools pass out.

Definitively we need new teaching methods and holistic growth but till we see result , ranks or comparison is just perception or future analysis like investment. There is lot of scope of marketing, presentation and manipulation. Many schools are run by professionals ( not educators or philanthropist), there risk of these is more high.

Holistic education has become important as more and more emphasis on extra curricular and soft skills is being placed nowadays. Good marks no more ensure great career. The companies as wells as professional schools (MBA etc) are more and more focussing on overall profile for their selection. I have seen people being rejected for being unidimensional (only good in academics). Any school which provides facilities (teacher, infrastructure etc) and guidance (individual attention etc) for overall development (academics, sports, social skills etc) of its students is a good school. So you can select a conventional or new age school as long as you feel that selected school is equipped in helping multi dimensional growth of your kid.

No denying that child needs Holistic growth. Point is how to measure schools on these parameters. Are schools providing that or just manipulating. In absence of measurement and criteria, There is lot of scope of marketing, presentation and manipulation.

Education is business now and you need to be careful. These things bound to happen.
