Hi @Prashant Goel :
Thanks. Actually we have been called for the second round of interaction on 18th.
The lady there told us that they would be declaring the result latest by 22nd. I received a mail for the confirmation of the admission within 2 days of interaction.
@ Prashant Goel, Anil , Mohik Garg, V R Harihar :
Thanks all for your valuable feedback.
It would be highly appreciable if u all pls. consider my situation and then analyse. Thanks in advance. My scenario is :
My Child is not eligible for nursery admissions in all schools as of now ( as he is Feb. 2011 born, which makes him 3.1 years old in March 2014).For nursery admission this year we were left with only a few choices. I am considering Presidium only because my child is already doing Pre-Nursery with Mother's Pride and we are saving on the admission deposit. Next year when he will be eligible for all the schools, then we can go for better schools. If he would have been through with any marvelous school admission, then we were even ready to repeat his pre-nursery.
Now when i am having only Amity in hand, i will only go for it if its the one-stop destination for him. I want to try his luck next year with schools like Suncity,Shiv Nadar, Lotus Valley,DPS -45 etc. Is Amity 43 comparable with these schools???
As far as i know about Amity 43 is that its like any other conventional school , giving stress only on Academics(just like we have studied in our times). This is where i am struct n i am building an opinion that let my child go to Presidium this year n then we will go for his nursery admission process next year when actually we will have loads of options to apply for.
REQUESTING SAKSHI n ALL THE PARENTS OVER HERE to Pls. Consider this situation and Guide !!!
Deepali...
We were in similar situation last year...Our child is Dec born...Last year he got admission in nursery in Amity 43...we went for submission of fees ...and found the school to be very conventional...this year he was elligible for nursery in many schools...and got admission in DPS-45,DAV and scottish high...we were interested in overall development (sports, music and academics as well)...so we chose scottish high for our child...he is presently studying nursery in ibambini and will repeat nursery next year in scottish high...many parents have Amity-43,DAV and DPS-45 as their first preference..child will spend his next 14 years in a school..we wanted it to be good one and didnot mind that he will waste one year...BUT many parents have different opinion and donot wish their child to waste one year...so its your personal decision/preference...
@Deepali,
We do agree your situation. Infact i am also having similar situation wherein my son is presently going to Prenursery in one of the nearby schools which is till KG class & my son is having DOB of 16.01.11 due to which, we too had very few options like Amity wherein we could try for Nursery class. As a result we did try in Amity,PG where we could not succeed & Amiown results are still awaited. However as a safer option we also tried for Pre-Nursery in other conventional but good schools like DAV,Sec14 & Salwan wherein we succeeded in DAV & results of Salwan are awaited.
One of the reason for trying Prenursery at this moment is that in Nursery you may get more stiff competition as compared to Prenursery so its better if we can get a seat (one Stop solution) in any of the good school now itself as god forbid if does not happen even next time then it may become more problematic to get the admissions in good school at that time.
You are right, why we should waste one year of a child or spend money unnecessarily by again going for Prenursery (in other school) but frankly speaking there is no other solution. Moreover by making our kid spend one more year in Prenursery (in established schoo ) we may get child's basics even more strong & he may feel more comfortable on reaching Nursery class.
See whatever we may say but at the end of the day we all need our kids to do well in studies irrespective of him doing well in sports/other activities etc. or not. So i don't think there is any harm in sending our kids to conventional schools as for other activties our kids get enough time during holidays wherein they can join so many camps etc. for overall development which may feel interesting as its out of school activity.
Moreover, even if you want to try for good schools next time, you will have to anyhow get Nursery repeated for your child.
Hope you may find the above feedback useful. Rest surely try to get more feedbacks from other parents & our moderators who may assess the conditions quiet well.
Thanks.
Great work V r harihar
I am one of those parents who ensure that we don't miss out on the posts by you and sakshi.....valuable comments and a great help to all distressed parents like us......admission thing has really taken a toll on all of us.....neways.....i totally concur that applying for pre-nursery this year makes more sense than applying for nursery next year as admission gets tougher in nursery......i too am sailing in the same boat and heavily banking on scottish high's pre nursery admission....i hope we make it else next year we again have to go through thus traumatizing experience of nursery admissions......
@Arleen,
In a way it's really honourable to listen to such comments. Infact I have just allways tried to express what i felt as a parent/friend in the interest of other parents because I can understand how many questions/queries/thoughts comes across the mind of a parent at this stage.
To be frank this is first time i have tried to be online with any of the website/forum & i actually felt after looking at so many comments/feedbacks/reviews that there is no one point from where we all parents could get the complete information. This is surely one of the best platform in form of a forum (created by Mr.Vohra/Sakshi & team) for each one of us parents who get to share our thoughts & our views so in a way this honour should go to them.
Thanks so much for your feedback & my best wishes for all the parents & their kids.
Hi Deepali,
I am exactly in the same situation (except I didn't get confirmation from Amity 43 as of now) my son is also Feb 11 born and doing pre-nur with Mother's Pride. I don't think Amity 43 as bad option. If I would have got confirmation on Amity, I must have gone for it by now. This may be a conflict of opinion but I found the school meeting all other co-curricular activities as well, moreover I found the approach much practical instead of just money making practice.
In case you are planing to staying back with Presidum. please do let me know I'll try with Amity if they can consider my son instead. I may be contacted on my email goelprash@hotmail.com
How is Salwan school. We shuld go for Salwan(Prenursery) or wait fornext year for nursery as my kid in 3/8/2011 born. Please suggest
Hi Mr. Prakash, Shakshi and all other parents,
My so is 30 th oct 2010 born and is already studying in pre nursery.
He got admission in Amity sec 43 in Nursery and so is saving a year i.e he would be 5.6 years when in class I as compared to other schools like blue bells where he is getting admission in Pre Nursery.
So please advice me should i opt for Amity 43.
Please guide!
Hi Prashant,
U must give the kid one more year.
Pradeep
@Deepali - One of my friends kids goes to Amity Sec 43. The feedback that she gave me that its a conventional school and another thing the school dont encourage kids for English conversation and teachers also talk on Hindi. she was planning to change the school due to this reason. Another thing, only focus is academics, rest all extra curricular activities are provided but its secondary and not focussed.
@Deepali- i too agree with nisha. basically you have to understand what you want for your child. amity is good for kids who in one go understand what teacher taught in class. if your child is not able to understand its you who have to do all efforts. dont expect from teacher to help you. they will just complain that you child not doing this or that. its a average school like the school we studied. definitely lot of pressure of studies which you and your child has to cope up with. my daughter in in class 1 amity 46. she gets list of hindi english words for dictation. its my responsibility to make her learn those words. this happens every month. every month assessments in which grades are give. extra activity for making fee yes but in practical negligible. most the time skating and tawkando teacher is absent. otherwise school is good. few kids and even there two teacher live in my society. they all agree to what i mentioned above but are helpless becz they can do anything. its all managment demand and they are puppet have to fullfil to sustain there jobs. ( this happens almost in every school). i hope this will give you clear picture. till kg i liked the school now ok....helping my daughter to adjust with it.
thanks
