Sakshi, is The Shri Ram Aravali the best in Gurgaon ?
Pankhuri,I don't know whether best or not best the most sought after school in gurgaon.
Hi all- For parents who may be interested in Kunskappskolan, I can share some feedback. We visited the school last week and the lady at the reception took us on a school tour.The school is definitely good in terms of infrastructure, though few things like badminton courts, swimming pool etc will take some time to come up. After that we were called for a child interaction this Saturday for which we went. There we met a lady who spoke to us and explained the ideology of the school etc (no interaction as such with the child) and were told that our admission is confirmed and we have a week to deposit fees. As per the school they have about 30 seats in nursery available right now. The only thing i could not relate to was that from 3rd standard onwards, they provide a Tab to each child which replaces the textbooks. So they have digital books for studying....seemed too advanced to me.
@Saurabh: Yeah, replacing textbooks with Tabs seems a little overwhelming to me as well. How is the Fee structure of this school?
@Saurabh,
Well i believe providing tabs at such young age is not good enough although in few cases it may prove to be a good thing since child will start learning from quiet young age.
Anyways the cost of tab will have to be beared by parents only so i don't think it makes much difference. Infact the same ideology can be used by other schools also but surely this will make children much more dependent on system rather then becoming self dependent. One of the example of such change in "Reduction in number of book reading people - Hard Copies" as there are number of people who prefer reading on internet / tabs etc. but at the same time it also have adverse effect on people. So all these things are really good, provided we use it to a limit & as far as i believe its very difficult to make children understand this due to which we can see huge number of children nowadays who have spectacles even at such a young age which is surprising.
Rest as you said the facilities are good in this school but only concern few parents are still having is the kind of ideology the school wants to adapt for teaching for which parents could not relate since these conditions are yet to be tried & tested in Indian conditions.
Similar is the case of a school in sushant lok i.e. Chiranjeev Bharti School where 'Laptops" are being provided to students quiet early so this is just one of the case.
Above are just my views which may be helpful to you but differ from other's view so you may get opinion form others too.
Thanks.
@Priya- The fee would be around 15 k per month...
@Harihar- Yes we felt that kids as it is have so much exposure to technology these days, be it Mobiles, Televisions, online games and to add to it if the child is spending another 6 hrs reading with Tab, it would be harmful to the eyes and otherwise also...We surely believe in change and think that changes in conventional schooling are extremely important to prepare our children for the future...but change to this extent???No definitely...We have got our child admitted to Heritage already...I had heard a lot about Kunskappskolan so wanted to find out more, but after the visit I am happy with my decision...
@Saurabh,
Congrats for your child's admission.
Yes, i do believe that we shoudl allways try & make our children more & more independent rather than dependent on others things in life & believe it or not too much exposure of all these innovations line mobiles,internet,tabs etc. are allways dangerous to our children & one should limit the usage of same as much as possible.
I have personally seen children dependent on computer so much that they sometimes they don't even know how to do a simple division or multiplication problem.
My best wishes for your child's future.
