ion race has begun in NCR. Some schools have started registrations and many have released their admission schedules. "My daughter is October-born and doesn't fit the minimum age criteria in many schools here. So I started looking early," says Swati. The minimum age criteria vary across schools, leading to confusion among parents. Swati's daughter is a first child which means she doesn't benefit from 'sibling points' also. The nursery admissions in NCR have become of interest to parents and many block seats for their kids in case they don't get through any school in Delhi. "A lot of new schools are coming up in NCR with facilities like horse riding and swimming pools. Most also offer international boards," says Sumit Vohra of admissionsnursery.com. Admission in these schools is considered easier as they are not regulated by the directorate of education, Delhi, and don't follow a fixed schedule or procedure. Lotus Valley International, Gurgaon, wanted to give siblings of children enrolled with them priority for nursery seats and had asked parents to apply in this category on August 1 and 2. "Since we consider siblings as members of the extended Lotus Valley family, we are pleased to begin the admission process for them on priority for pre-nursery and nursery," says a notice from the principal. Admissions for 'general public' will begin at the end of August. Swati, who is exploring options in Gurgaon, says Kunskapsskolan "is offering registration to any parent who is visiting now and will give priority." Somerville International Preparatory School and Delhi Public School, Gautam Buddh Nagar have opened registration for nursery admissions for the year 2014-15. one year or else get admitted her to Nursery etc etc
One answer ( Which triggered my decision given by Sakshi) - Entire Delhi ( Supreme Court Guidelines )is following uniform criteria of 3+ ( March 31,2015) criteria for admission in Nursery then why our child has to wait for another year.
even the "so" called reputed ( I am using word so as they are inconsistent in their approach towards admitting the kids in the same class/ standard) school like Shriram Aravali follows 3+ ,All DPS follows 3+ and Lotus Valley for the parent Noida School follows 3 year + 3 months.
However , it is irony , that after crossing the erstwhile toll plaza ( or crossing the Arjun Nagar on MG Road) same child who is THREE years of age get disqualified for admission in Nursery ( most of Gurgaon So called reputed schools).
After primary research I short listed - GD Goenka, Amity and Ridge Valley( which follows 3+ age criteria). finalised GD a Goenka basis the +Ve feedback on this forum, past successful track in Education Basis and excellent infrastructure although it is little far off from my residence ( and Amity 43 is in my premises only but mainly academic based as received feedback here and seen personally )
Good Luck !! By the way where you stay ??…

Some schools in Gurgaon have started nursery admission in a departure from the schedule followed last year, leaving parents confused. The admission process, which usually commences around mid-August, has already started in some schools and others are also expected to start the process soon. Parents complain that absence of an academic calendar for schools in Gurgaon is causing them troubles.
Schools such as The HDFC School, The Millennium School, Delhi Public School Sushant Lok, Lotus Valley International School and Kunskapskollan have already started their admission process. Scottish High International will open the registration process on August 1. Other schools, including DPS Sector 45 and Ryan International School, are also likely to start the process by mid-August.
“I am frazzled by the education system here. My family shifted to the city recently and I have been hooked to all social networking sites for information about school admissions. The schedules of two of my preferred schools are poles apart. I am confused,” said Naina Raj, a parent.
Parents said absence of an academic calendar is affecting their choice of school.
“I want my child to study under the ICSE board. The school should provide an environment for my child’s overall development but also ensure that the studies are not compromised with. But how can a school fulfil all these needs? With no academic calendar and fixed number of seats in schools, my child will have to make compromises,” said Priyanka Dubey, another parent
Education experts suggest that the early start of admission by some schools is due to growing competition among them.
“Every year, more and more schools with better infrastructure and technology come up in Gurgaon. These institutes give a strong competition to the existing ones, which is why schools want to start admission before others,” Sumit Vohra, founder of admisssionnursery.com.
Schools, meanwhile, say that they have started early admission to give more time to the parents to complete the formalities.
“We are commencing the admission process early so that the parents can fill the forms easily and submit them. For the comfort of the parents, the school is providing forms both offline and online,” said Sudha Gupta, principal, Scottish High International School.
Aditi Misra, principal of Delhi Public School Sector 45, said, “We will start admissions by the first week of August. The admissions will be done on the basis of draw of lots.”

ly traditional school and only focus is only academics as Dr Shayama Chona and Principal both are EX-DPS. ( few of them changed after 5th Grade)
LVIS provides Academic plus activities ( That can be done outside also).
Not Holistic growth.
It is considered most unethical school in Gurgaon by many parents, Extracting money from parents starting from prospectus. (As you must be aware being old member) and other untoward incidents which Principal keeps denying.
Last year parent Payal also did not apply in LVIS and she also stayed very near to school,as i read in last year thread.
Last but not the least, if you check school website admissions are open for all the classes from last one month.
Had it been doing well, how come they have vacancy in every class ?

t environment for my son, so I started visiting schools in Gurgaon. So far, visited 12. Here is what I found so far:
a. There are two exhibitions on 25-26 July & 8-9 Aug at Epicentre where many schools will be present.
b. Most of the schools have both positive & negative review from parents. I even found parents who are unhappy with Shriram, Shiv Nadar, Kunskapskolan & Lotus valley but both schools have happy parents too. So it's all subjective.
c. I heard about this different new school called Vega which has no classrooms but where students will learn by making projects most of the time. I'm very interested in that but need trying to get more feedback.
d. Not very happy with DPS International, Pathways & GD Goenka so far. Too many complaints from parents I've spoken to. I also have decided I will go for CBSE instead of IB, IGCSE or ICSE. CBSE is becoming a very good system and my child will get better teachers of this curriculum.…
