this is absolutely ridiculous. the schools always do what they wish to do. it should better be that school should follow the rule of first come basis. they donot understand the kind of pressure the parents and the child underfo in this entire process.
Hi All,
Why people creating thing mess....(any process or system can not make everyone happy)

Earlier parent has concern about child interaction (kids are so small, it was not good to interviewed kids) and now

The process changed -- again doing same things.

Thanks
Rijwan
I am agree with sachin Arora that now Government should take major step. It should decide an uniform process for admission which all should follow. So parents should know before applying what all process they have to follow for admitting their kids.
But how do you know that the school is not going to do further screening or conduct interviews! Does it say that the students selected through the lot system will be taken in right away?

Yes I welcome the lot system. Since atleast the kids would be left stress free and people from all fields and community rich or poor, educated or uneducated parents, free from politics, religion will get a opportunity to get admitted by God's wish.

Or else parents may arrange tutions for their kids before going to schools to get prepared for an interview. Even for big job there may be only one round of interview but I feel more than 3 rounds of interview is going on which is meaningless.

I feel the best school is a school who can mould a child who are just clay into multiple intelligent child.
Lottery system would be best. In addition there could be a minimum eligibility critieria (for example childern in 8 KM radius of the school).
1. Yes the school will take the child right away. No further interactions !

2. Can't say about quality of kids. Who says the so called good school students don't use foul language etc?

3. U being a professional cannot be the only criteria of good values. Anyone can speak English, no restrictions I hope :)

4. Yes, the process should be uniform. Let all schools follow this, and all would be well with the world.

Amen.
Lottry System is good but i agree it should follow by all school.
I,indeed, find this to b the most suitable option, lottery system by all schools with just the basic criterion of distance from the school to be around 8-10 kms. This should be accompanied by an orderly waitlist, the way we have in railways(WL nos.), so that we know the chances of our child getting into the school. If followed with transparency and order, draw of lots would be the best option. As said earlier, even before the draw of lots option, we had little choice in deciding our child's school.

Distance b/w old and new Gurgaon is more than 10 Kms. All the new school in Gurgaon is coming in New Gurgaon as old Gurgaon is jam packed. So Aditi having distance as the basic criteria will mean that parents residing in old Gurgaon say sector 4 or 7 will never be able to put their kids in the school which is in Gurgaaon itself but on the other side of highway ans they have to live with just DAV or bluebells. As there is no equal distribution oc school across Gurgaon, to opt for distance as basic creteria will be really against a large lot of population staying in Old Gurgaon.
I think the admission process should be more transparent and all the schools should unite and give a common admission form and a common lottery system followed for all schools in complete transparency. This shall prevent harassment of parents of depositing admission fees in multiple schools and also that every child gets admission in 1 seat only and no reqt of multiple waiting lists.
Strongly oppose this decision and hope this decision of draw of lots doesn't hit us back..hope we are not retrogressing..hope much thought has been put while opting for this solution..

Do we plan to build our next generation by relying on fate and luck?!!

Mr Abhinav Bindra seems to be right when he said something like this about our CWG preparation: "What if it rains in October?.. I'll definitely meet Paul the pundit while I am in Vetican City..Turn to soothsayers when everything else fails.. after all we are Indians."!!

Good luck folks for admissions (and CWG)! Will pray everyday now.
This is not about luck or soothsaying.

This is about giving a fair chance to EVERYONE when there are a large number of applicants and when kids are required to be freed from the interaction/observation schedule.
