I agree with Pranav. This site seems to be represented by only one section of the society. Why are we all so scared of interactions ? Don’t we realise that the rich and famous will get in one way or another…..for the rest of us, why shouldn’t we opt for schools that we believe in ? Let the school stand for certain values/ culture and whoever is comfortable with that culture should be apply for that school.

Maharramji, with all due respect, I am not comfortable with my child attending a school where westernization is looked down upon. Your comments are so judgemental. On what basis can you assume that people who are westernized don’t have pride and don’t follow their own culture. Like minded people should be allowed to be together. It does not mean professional are better than businessmen etc etc….it just means people think differently and have different values. We all need to respect that. Let the schools decide what they stand for and let us decide what suits us best.
Mr Vohra has put it right we should reach concencus .anything will do but not draw of lots

yes centralised admission process sounds good we need some good suggestions
my take -no interaction for kids but parents interaction is ok
i fully agree with Mr. Vohra's idea about centralized system..this is the only way out to make the system fair. Rather lottery system is not acceptable to me at all..how a child can make his future depending only on his luck..dats not fair
I think some parents who have got their child's admission through lottery they are favoring lottery system but what about them who were more deserving candidates in all aspects but did not get through...now they have to go to some other school to try their luck..if again fail then what? so i am also against this system...whatever another method would be but that would be better than lottery system..atleast parents should know on what basis they have selected or rejected.
Well this system ensures education for all but not in the schools where you want..... it is certainly unfair but perhaps fairer than the interaction system. Although my kid got through the interaction, I must admit it was just a matter of luck there as well because he was in a good mood and responded to the question.....
You might have something there Anju, but you would also require to put forth an alternate approach. If not lottery, then what? How can one child be more deserving than the other in any respect? They are just starting off on their long education career ..
So Kashish, if not lottery system, what other fair means of selection can you suggest, other things being equal?
The option of having Interaction with parents only, perhaps leave hardly any scope for the under-privileged and less educated parents. Thus killing the basic purpose of "EDUCATION FOR ALL". Point system like the previous years, may have lot of manipulations at both parents & schools end furnishing false information and indrectly moulding the system respectively. My first preference goes to Lottery folowed by centralized counseling as suggested by Mr. Vohra.
i agreee with Maharam sir

Yes i agree that parent interaction should be limited to a minimal limit which allows for required admission procedure.. What if parents is/are differently abled? It will be up-hill task for them.

Lottery system is undoubtedly a much better way but only when it is transparent. At the same time,it is imperative that this is done by all schools not selectively by only few of them. One important issue that should have been solved for in RTE act is that schools are asked to start and end the initial admission process during a specified period. One should also look at the number of forms school can sell. Schools are making a killing by issuing form 4 to 5 times of the available seats and probability of selection gets marred keeping parents under stress....
