The only one solution to this current problem (child : seat ratio- 35:1)-- the govt have to upgrade govt. schools up to level of these private schools. Benefits- ratio of child : seat will narrow, the monopoly of these school mafia will end.
But why govt. is not doing this ?? probable causes- heavy money inflow from pvt. school corner, most politicians have investments in these private schools, most builders have investments in these private schools.
Govt. also know how to rule we general people. as we have a trend: we stop talking & take aside when our own demand is fulfilled. For example- an injured person on road how many of us come out of car & take the needy person to hospital rather inside the car we blame bad traffic (*This was the example given by one of IAS) & thats true also. Govt knows this fact that this storm will stop after 15 days.
Also this is the time for some ministers to gain importance through media (Before oct. 2010 i asked one gentle man who is mr. lovely he told builder ., i again asked NO No in Govt. - He told probably transport minister. I again asked in jan He told me even my kid know who is lovely.
Now we have to decide who will become next decision maker? the person who know the value of education, the person who know the value of each kid's future as each kid is lifeline of their parents. Lets wait for that time & of course we will have to take collectively decision in next election that we are not a mob we general parents are the pillars.
I totally agree & appreciate your feedback on Education system:-
1.Up-gradation of Govt Schools can be first step- as Govt is paying heavily to their school teachers ie from taxpayers money but teachers recruitments is also a big question mark.If Govt really work upon Govt schooling then these Pvt schools have to come in market to attract students like Many engineering colleges in NCR do.
2 DOE should design uniform Points table for every school.
Changing Govt will won't do anything as all are same. That's why we want our child to study & take their place -assuming younger India will be more rational in Voting decision.
Good thoughts Dr.Dharmendra & Ritu ji...
yes in the current era of market oriented economy the long established pvt. schools must be given competition through upliftment of govt./MCD/Central schools...The govt. had dreamt earlier same through Jawahar Navodaya Schools in all hinterlands throught the country..this can be done in Delhi too...but as you rightly said it requires a sincere affirmative action with strong will power from Govt..
..currently also many govt. schools come out with good results in CBSE X & XII stds..but we the educated middle class (however we are educated through the central/govt.schools) do not favour them and die for the public/pvt. schools in one or other pretexts...the societal & peer pressure is so much prevalent that we think govt. school educated kid shall have a less successful career than his/her public school counter part...but see the academic life of a student is full of competitions throught his education...and we face another set of competition after 12th std....then can we differ through which type of school a kid has come through when the level is same for all to clear?...we see that IITs/NITs/good medical colleges all having a good mix of students through all types of schools and sometimes more favourable towards those came through govt. schooling...what does it mean??..it's simple that still good govt. schools do exist & good teachers are there in every govt. school but the govt./CBSE board/NCERT must also focus on the betterment of these schools by providing good infrastructure, innovative learning pedagogy, updated curriculum, regular teachers' reviews& training, congenial learning environment in the schools, emphasis on English as a medium of education with ample focus on Hindi and other vernacular languages, exposing these schools to inter schools competitions in sports, cocurriculars, maths/science olampiads, students exchange programs with the best ones overseas and last but not the least engaging parents in every aspects school activities to make it a collaborative mode of learning---we are sure with such existing huge fund inflows into the education sector, money is not a problem...if only govt. and public both show a willingness we can have a sustainable effective primary education system at affordable cost benchmarked with the best in world...
Brij Ji
good thoughts amd money is also not a problem . But does the corrupt system guarantee to save money that is termed as 'Black Money'
In my opinion : Corruption is a relative term rather than absolute. The time we feel pressure is unbearable we feel pain. same is with corruption.
if the three basic things will be provided to middle class educated family then every one will be satisfied for a while / for a generation at least-
1) Basic education up to a level where a child discover its own talent to survive whether its private / govt.
2) Basic govt. health system up to a level where no disability / mortality occur if you have no money to pay big hospital bills.
3) Of course basic & healthy food to a growing child.
But really we are sorry that we are devoid of these benefits despite serving as a responsible citizen (paying regular taxes, abide to rules like waiting for 1 hr. for a VIP to pass even if a patient is dying in govt. hospital waiting for a govt.doctor, paying special attention to power holders ignoring the needy one) & also a responsible father ( to take a form from school waiting in line from 8 am on first week of jan and when our turn came at 12 o'clock the lady in counter said come tomorrow & of course in line again at 7:45 am next day; Hearing the fact that if you don't have caliber to pay 500 for form how you can give tuition fee of your kid & in backmind doing calculation to do compromise for kid's future, going in lucky draw of lots & returning like a defeated soldier and next day ready for another draw of lots) .
Its not that world's highest economy (USA) or world's highest populated state (china) has no corruption but they had at least provided / tried honestly to provide these 3 basics to middle class.Lets hope best for the future when we will be given our basic rights.......
i got the call, but last day of paying fees is 3rd. its shortlisting of the chldren, what they have done, they will display shortlisted children name on 1st. not much clue about school. it was discussed in this thread earlier that its managemet is jindal family probably same as jindal school, rohini. schools building is good, that u must have seen.
