Interaction at Gyanshree Noida

Hi All,

We had an interaction at Gyanshree Noida. Here is our experience:

They called us for an interaction and after we confirmed, we did not find our name in the list but they were not finicky about it. So, they first gave us a presentation about the school post which they divided us in two groups. One group went for interaction with teachers for assessment and other with the Principal.

We were in the first group. They allowed one parent with children who were not comfortable going alone with the teachers. So they took children to a classroom and told parents to sit a little away in the same class. Then each teacher took one child and gave them few things for evaluation

- Showed them big and small cutouts to identify

- Shapes to identify

- Blocks to build

- Fruits and vegetables to be identified by books

- animal cutouts for identification

- shape drawn on a paper to be colored

- few questions - like name, parents name

- a thread and some beads to get the thread through them.

- gave a ball to my son and told him to catch and give it back

My son did identify the big and small, most animals, most fruits n veg, did not color properly, ofcourse could not pass a thread in between beads, instead of playing catch with teacher he played it with me.

We got the feedback and he was not selected. Although I believe, these kids are so small, the evaluation should be on their potential not what they know already, I still respect the verdict.

Wanted to share it with all people who are seeking or will seek inputs for interaction as I could get one in this forum. So, this might help.

Hello Shally,

Thanks for sharing your experience, it is helpful. Regarding the selection, I really find it weird too. As a child of this age is completely moody too. Even if they know, they may not be in a mood to tell that day or if they are not comfortable with a stranger all of sudden asking them such queries.

I was very pleased with the DPS GBN interaction. The teacher was very experienced and she gave so much freedom to the kids and then asked questions in between their play, making the kids feel they are playing and not getting grilled for a Ph.D. thesis :)

I share your sentiments. Ultimately, i believe, we as parents should go with the school that is aligned with our thoughts.

Hi All

I too had the same experience in Gyanshree. My son did not spoke much during the interaction and was busy playing with toys and all. Even though when i went near him and asked to recognise the pictures in the book he actually did. However the admission Councillor asked me the reason why my child did not spoke much to which I replied that children and moody and as per their own will and that he actually recognized pictures, colours and all but she said he did not speak much.

Then i had an interaction with the Principal and she suggested me to consult a doctor because as per her my child has delayed speech symptoms and asked me to wait for another one year and try next year in School for nursery admission.

I mean these people are judging children less than 3 years of age in just 10 minutes and from day one pressurizing the parents about the children. How on this earth can you judge a child within just 10 minutes.

I had the same experience in other school as well however they gave admission to my child but i refused to admit my child there coz I want my child to be in a positive environment. I am seriously done with these 5 star schools who just want money and does not treat the child as child but in fact a scholar from day one.

I can understand how it feels since my son has been little delayed as compared to his peers in achieving milestones but I am amazed at his grasping power. He did achieve all milestones and knows much much more than a child at his age should be.

I, too, was happy for not having being selected in Gyanshree for the same fact that if they could not understand the child now, what would they do later on. I am amazed at what the principal suggested and hence I feel it was for good that we did not go there.

However, there are schools which do not believe in this. Please read my experience on "Lotus valley Interaction". It was a very pleasant experience not because we got through but because the way they treated the children.
