Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools
Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Monday ordered private schools in Delhi to not allow nursery admissions till it gives a final verdict on the validity of government's 2010 notification and whether it follows the Right to Education Act. "Schools cannot formulate their own admission policies," the court further ordered.
The notification allows schools in Delhi to formulate their own guidelines and preferences based on religion, sibling and alumni to admit children in nursery. The court had earlier said the Centre and the Delhi government cannot "dilute" RTE Act by allowing unaided private schools to use their own criteria for nursery admissions.
The court had also said the ongoing nursery admission process in Delhi would be cancelled if it decides to "quash" the notification issued on December 15, 2010 by the Directorate of Education (DoE) on behalf of Delhi government.

what will happen in cases where fees has already been deposited by parents?? why cant these ppl act on time .... was it not possible to lineup this case before 15 Jan which was the last date for making applications??? All govt institutes, including judiciary do nothing to help public, but only create complications.... such an act midway now will only give schools a much greater chance to manipulate and sell seats.... but these judges are not smart enough to understand such a thing.... they only work as per their own whims n fancies...
WHATEVER ANYBODY DOES OR WHATEVER MAY BE THE OUTCOME OF THIS DECISION BY HC, IT IS FACT & WILL REMAIN THAT ONLY SUFFERERS WILL BE PARENTS AND NOT SCHOOLS.
TILL THE TIME ONE REMAINS IN DELHI HAS TO FACE THIS, NO RESCUE PATH??
ONLY COMPLICATIONS.
The fact is that by doing this now they are only increasing the pains of the parents. Why all this could not be done in time. The court & the Government was sleeping all this time? Come January and they always create new problems mid-way. For years, the case is in the court & they have not been able to decide any policy. Why create this fuss now when you dont want to do anything. For years you have been sitting on these cases & done nothing. It seems they have woken now, will create some fuss & then again sit quietly for another year and again wake up only in Jan next year.
I 100% agree with your comments, when our judiciary delayed decision on this critical issue every year. They got up when the situation is worse and the process of admission is going on. Cann't they clear their verdict on time before the process of admission is start?
Get refund but you wont get anything without receipt.
You will only waste a few hours / couple of days for your child's 15 years of education.
Not worth it ???
Agree with you, we have applied in DPS, Dwarka but all seats (140) given to sibling and alumni. I was really sad it shows single child or if parents are not from DPS, my son can not go to DPS.
Thanks for Delhi High Court decision, late but still on time to get right school for kid.
Yes Naresh. If you had an equal opportunity like everybody else who applied to the school to be able to admit your child to the school, it wouldn't seem so unfair if you didn't get through. What hurts parents most is that without sibling and alumni criteria points, you are not even considered for a lucky draw.
When the unfair criteria are done away with, eventually people would stop focusing on branded schools as there would be no guarantee of admitting your child to a branded school. Nobody would feel ashamed if their child is not going to branded schools. This would allow all schools to develop equally.
Social development requires moving away from the "survival of the fittest" Darwinian thinking. Schooling in Delhi is all about survival of the fittest.
Bang on: Totally agree especially with your second paragraph.
Does that mean that if every one wants there kids to go to DPS Dwarka... should High court ensure they all get there... right to education cannot be the right to education in my choice of school. What if we still do not get our choice of school after the draw of lots... chances are that most people will not.. then what. Should we setup a forum to barter seats .... saying I would prefer to go to that school, you to this one so lets exchange seats ...... it is fare.... but should that be allowed?? How do you formalize this?
