Selecting a curriculum is more important for enrolling a child in a best school and this great education debate will surely help parents in a better way to find a suitable curriculum for their child.
Yes Lathaaji
As you being Educationist and Head of our Core Team . Pls give your take for the parents who are confused among INT Curriculum .
As i personally feel only Expats or Parents plkanning to shift abroad ahould opt for INt Curriculum
Reasons
1 International curriculum is expensive and not recognised by all Indian Universities ( if children is not interested in going abroad)
2 International way teaching yet to be proved in India competitive atomosphere.
.
International Baccalaureate (IB) and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) are more advanced in respect to content and more student friendly than CBSE and ICSE. Moreover getting accreditation from international boards is easier as compared to CBSE and ICSE. Now CBSE-I (CBSE International) curriculum has come as an alternative to foreign boards like IGCSE and IB with half the cost to make their students into Global Citizens. CBSE - I is successful in Gulf countries. Admission process in Indian Universities too is quite tougher for students of International Boards.
Thanks lathaaji for the Insight.
I have passed 10th from ICSE board and 12th from CBSE board. In my personal opinion ICSE board is more broad and good than CBSE
Sangeeta
I agree , it is more elaborate but many schools have changed from ICSE to CBSE board in last 20 years.
ICSE is tough also and in 12th grade if you are preparing for Entrance exam , it is not in sync you have to study separately.
Just Google and see no of Icse and Cbse schools in India.
yes its a debatable topic :)
Sangeetaji
ICSE was the thing of past
if Indian then CBSE
Else IB that too if you need to go abroad.
Yes Sunnyji I know but the Curriculam there is good for overall development. Government should take
the good points and why not make only one board for the whole country. So that all the confusion is not there
Sangeeta
Very valid point .
My take on this: problem with international curriculum.... is that there is in less schools so books, tutors are not readily available...
However for international exposure all those curriculums are need of the day....
Mehesh
Yes in senior classes this problem was faced by parents on forum.
Yes maam i have a experience and taught a student and found it quite different from CBSE and difficult too
