Hi Sakshi,

My daughter is shortlisted in DAV sector 49 and Amity Sector-43 (Powergrid) at Gurgaon. I am confused which one to go with. DAV has 21.09.2013 as last date for fee submission whereas at Amity parents interaction is on 24.09.2013. Please guide me. what are the pros and cons of the two school and your perspective

With regards,

Pradeep Srivastava

Pradeep,Amity43 is old  established school > DAV sec 49(New) but can you take chance.

Thanks Sakshi,

In fact i also have option for Ryan International school at Sector 40 Gurgaon. I have to select among these three (DAV, Amity International or Ryan International).

I can take chance, below are a few point which are confusing me.

1) DAV is pure academic with less focus on other activities and is a typical traditional school but looking into current environment so how important and successful are such school.

2) My job is such that i may go to other cities such as Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Amity has no presence in these cities. Whereas other 2 schools have branches and allow transfers.

3) Fee wise cost is also economical in DAV (4k/month with very less additional charges) but i presume this is not the case with other 2 schools.

Please advise the same so that i can come to a conclusion.

Pradeep

I would request Mr V R Harihar to help Pradeep.

@Sakshi,

Yah offcourse.

@Pradeep,

First of all Congrats to have 3 options for your child.

Well your points no. 2 & 3 are very much valid and thus should be considered major while finalising the school. However it would be wrong in saying that DAV is purely academic as DAV sec14 is a good one with facilities for sports & extra curricular activities. But in your case its DAV,Sec49 which is a new one & thus not completely established yet so may be at this time it will not have all facilities so compared to Amity,Sec43 & Ryan its very new.

Infact you may also go for Ryan & see the possibility of same having branches in cities referred by you.

In case your job is such that you may have regular transfers then i would say DAV is the best solution wherein you will have flexibility to change easily. In a way its your call at this moment.

Pradeep,

I agree with Mr Harihar

Amity >Dav sec 49 >Ryan (Even in case of transfer Ryan should be your last option)

Thanks a lot Mr. Harihar,

Suppose i choose DAV sector 49, can u tell me what my daughter would miss then, if i would have shortlisted Amity or Ryan International. Means what are the good these school have which DAV does not have currently.

Pradeep

@Pradeep,

Following are the ones which your child may miss while choosing DAV as compared to Amity / Ryan :

a) Teaching method

b) Hi tech Facilities ( extra curricular activities )

c) Proper sports facilities

d) Reputation ( Amity, 43 has better as compared to DAV,Sec49 )

e) AC buses ( this i am not sure but you may check )

f) Vast experience of teaching Amity has is uncomparable with DAV,Sec49

g) Kind of exposure Amity may provide

Negatives for Ryan/Amity as compared to DAV :

a) Amity's fees is quiet higher than DAV

b) You need to check if Amity/Ryan is having any branches in cities referred by you for which I have a doubt

Thanks Harihar

Can u explain more on point a) Teaching methodology and g) kind of exposure Amity may provide

Pradeep
