2 Yes Alumni is indirect screening ..if you Google you will find Mr Vohra articles in All leading newspapers like TOI HT HINDU to abolish these ALUMNI points as it evident that school can get all details of alumni and knows their background.

3 Staff could be genuine also as many teachers do job only for teaching kids in Shriram :) but no of staff seats in Delhi is max 5 % in most of the schools.So number of seats should be defined

Regarding 1st point, I was not aware that "ESSAYS" are to be written at home & submitted. Infact I thought its something to be written & submitted offhand in school itself during interaction,document verification etc. which was ok to me as per my reasoning. But if its to be written at home then its surely a bad idea. Its not worth to be used in admission criteria which is so critical for any child.

Regarding Alumni I don't understand, what advantage a school gets in case any parents is an Alumni of the school. Will that parent pay something extra or help school in one way or the other as compared to other parents. This is also not worth to be used as admission criteria by any of the schools.

Coming to 3rd point i.e. "STAFF QUOTA" yes, most of the parents would agree that some of the teachers work for initial years just for admission purpose & after that they just leave the job although in some cases it may also be genuine.

This is the reason, I feel there needs to be lot of changes done in the whole admission process which may get system much more transparent & justified.

Mr Harihar,All your points are valid

"Alumni" schools aware that either of the parents are our ex student and we choose them after screening either they would be creamy layer/rich or educated

so screening by default.

Mr harihar all schools by and large have alumni seats reserved. It's not for the purpose of screening. I'd call it 'loyalty bonus' which is absolutely fair. An alumni wanting to send his/ her child to the same school that he went to shows their faith in the school.
