Manav Rachna School Sector 46/51
WE SUGGEST ALL THE PARENTS MUST VISIT THE SCHOOL BEFORE GETTING ADMISSION AS AFTER GETTING ADMISSION NOT MUCH TIME IS GIVEN TO DEPOSIT THE FEES (EXCEPT VERY FEW SOUGHT AFTER SCHOOLS )

Tried their phone number also. It's either busy or switched off.
I don't think 200 registrations would have happened through the site. Else, they'd have shown a proper message. They message they're showing now is same as was displayed couple of days ago.
My sense is that they've messed up the website experience. I hope they are working on it and would come up with an update vey soon. I'll try once later in the day. Pls. do update if any parent sees any update on the site.
Let's all go to the School on Monday at 9 am.
Still the same issue @9:00 am, the page is still displaying Registrations are currently closed.
we cant be sure of that.. it seems that the people who have not been able to get through are the ones complaining and writing
I called up school and the phone is also going into voice mail, they haven't replied to my email on admission inquiry earlier as well and now the website issues....what's wrong with great schools ?
Hi all,
I dont see much discussion about Shikshantar on this forum. Just wondering if people have any thoughts on Shikshantar?
thanks
Anupam
Hi Anupam,
I have registered for my son in Shikshantar. Their school introduction session was really good. And unlike other schools where parents are running after school, this school's whole process is well organized.Got to know lot about the school while I havent even seen other schools where I have applied. Only doubt I have is about their alternative teaching methods. How effective that will be in the long run that is the question.
Have you also applied there?
Hi Shilpi, Anupam,
We have also registered our son at Shikshantar. I agree the whole process was very transparent (compared to what i understand of others) and the school tour was very useful as we got to not only see the infrastructure but also interact with the management / staff, of course they are investing time to get the parents to get comfortable with their philosophy of alternate learning...
Following things stand out for me :
1. No uniforms (Heritage is another school with this philosophy)
2. No ACs in classrooms / buses...
3. Philosophy is that each child is different and the school focuses on identifying each ones talent and nurture it (of course they asked for significant time investment from parents as well)
4. Just 2 batches of outgoing Class XII, last year the avg. aggregate was about 73%, this year its 86% (ICSE board, same as Shri Ram), so guess academics would be taken care of in the long run
5. Some Shikshantar parents told us that when you meet other kids of the same age, they may exhibit better knowledge of alphabets / numbers / facts and you may think your kid is not learning anything in school (this was shared by Parents during the school tour in front of the Shikshantar team), but nothing to be worried as eventually they would catch up in numbers / alphabets, but they would be more confident and sure of what interests them.
6. During the school tour we could notice some basic spelling mistakes in the projects / artifacts created by students of class V (startling for many, at least for me), however the staff told us that's because they focus more on learning through experience and these things get taken care of eventually.
Frankly, i am also a little circumspect about the school, but then I am thankful to the school to have allowed us to form a view through such a detailed school tour. We have been able to form an opinion by ourselves on this school. But unfortunately, for the rest i guess its all word of mouth (I have not been able to get inside into any of the other sought after schools and whatever info we have is from other parents...So waiting for other schools to hopefully open up and share a bit more about their school apart from the brochures and the point systems and the draw of lots and the 200 application cut -offs :)
IMPORTANT - Shiv Nadar School Gurgaon
