WE SUGGEST ALL THE PARENTS MUST VISIT THE SCHOOL BEFORE GETTING ADMISSION AS AFTER GETTING ADMISSION NOT MUCH TIME IS GIVEN TO DEPOSIT THE FEES (EXCEPT VERY FEW SOUGHT AFTER SCHOOLS )

No , you cannot

how do you know this  that we cannot . I got 290 number .  Was there any info from school for this ? Or because we could not get within 200 so we did not get the option for payment but it allowed us it fill it

Today was the online application for Shiv Nadar School and seems due to a total jam on the website, we couldn't open the site only. By the time we got through, the registrations were over. Very disappointed that we couldnt even get a chance to fill the form. :-(

I agree Gagan. A lot of us are in the same boat. They botched it up big time. Really disappointing.

Shiv Nadar school's response on Facebook

Shiv Nadar School Dear Parents, Due to unprecedented traffic on the website, there was a server overload and fragmented display of the registration link. Due to this technical glitch, some people could access the link and register while others could not.
We're extremely sorry for the inconvenience this might have caused you. To be fair to all, we'll open 100 fresh registrations on Tuesday 11 AM for those who could not register.
Please be assured that we will take all steps possible to ensure that it is a smooth process. Sincere apologies once again.

I don't know of a single parent who went through the following link - http://shivnadarschool.edu.in/.../register-login-for.../ to register. Everyone who did, managed to do it through backdoor link (http://buzzyears.com/school/snsg/registration). If there is any parent who went through the SNS school link, kindly respond.

I don't understand why they would open only 100 when the link didn't work at all (on their website). I believe they should scrap today completely and give everyone a fair chance again.

Just reminds me of the Flipkart mega sale that crashed the first time...and unthinkable to see a respected educational institute take a cue from there...I would assume there are genuine ways to do your brand building, spare the already anxious parents and dont play with their time...

Most of us would have wasted at least the first half of the day (if not more) and i can see some more on Tuesday (now its 100 and how do we know who all are valid registration? the ones who were able to pay INR 1000, the ones whose reg no is withing 200?).

Alternately a unrestricted no of applicants across the 2 days would have helped  :

. No server crash / load as people can plan when to fill the form within those 2 days

. The company would have earned addition INR 1000 per application

I am not sure how complex the lottery would be if they have all applications in the draw rather than just restrict it to 200? Does it entail significant additional infra / resources to keep all applications (rather than just 200)? If not, then it looks a rather simple and logical process to have as many applicants as possible?

Yes, of course, i forgot, Flipkart is an inspiring case study, even to the modern educational institutes :)

Again don't understand how having another slot of 100 is going to help? How do we know who all are registered ?

They can't scrap today's process as people have spent 1000 rs on the forms

I disagree Amit. It can't be about 1000 rs. It has to be about having a fair process that gives everyone an equal chance to begin with.

Those who have registered and those who will, must submit the self-attested hardcopy of the application form at the school’s front desk between 2nd and 4th of September between 9 AM and 3 PM , for the child to be eligible for lottery process. No applications will be considered post the deadline is over.

Due to unprecedented traffic on the website, there was a server overload and fragmented display of the registration link...

Fragmented Display? really? was anyone able to get the link from Shiv Nadar site yesterday? I guess whoever got their kids registered was through the buzzyears link...And SNS is claiming there was fragmented display.

Also, if you notice this...Due to unprecedented traffic on the website...do you think this glitch was because of traffic? because i think there was no link at all on their website and the buzzyears link was working fine, so it was not traffic but something else that caused this, but the school claims its due to unprecedented traffic just to give the parents the feel that SNS is very sought after, creating a false sense of scarcity and hence being "sought after", they don't even have Class X or Class XI results to prove their "sought after" status.

Very true! They just wanted to create a hype and they got it... unfortunately for them it has backfired.
