No guarantee of promotion to Holy child as confirmed by parents
The only criteria that makes sense to me are alumini and siblings. Some seats should be reserved for these and a separate draw should be done from all the applicants of these children respectively. No points criteria should be in these also, all under these categories should be considered for draw.
Then the rest of the seats should be equally divided between girls and boys and draw should be done from the boys and girl applicants separately.
Distance criteria doesn't make any sense to me and that too when every school has a separate take on this. The parents are wise enough to choose which school is far for their children and which is not. All applicants should be considered for all schools where they have applied. Scrap the distance criteria. Government is nobody to tell me whether I can send my child to 20 km far away school or not.
It should be ensured that the systems are transparent and not more than some percentage of seats are in management quota.
These are my personal views not intended to hurt anybody's sentiments and views.
Cheers!!
Agree with you Rakesh. Neighborhood criteria should be imposed as per my understanding as children should not be subjected to traveling long distances twice daily.
With that being said, the neighborhood criteria was applicable on only 298 schools build on DDA land and not on entire fleet of 1500+ private schools.
Another factor to be considered that schools are not evenly distributed, so it maybe a case in some XYZ Nagar there is no school within 5 kms.
I guess its high time now and Govt. should come up with a well justified and streamlined process. All management/staff/alumni/sibling quotas should be abolished. Only quota that can remain is EWS and General.
MPOV.
Rakesh Ji, I completely agree with you. I was a last year parent and had gone through this mad nursery race. Last year i did not got admission near by area and hence i sent my child to a school which is very far.
When DOE proposed the neighborhood criteria i was happy that at least i will be able to secure a seat in some school ( good or bad) near my area , but later again the criteria got the same as last year and i can see the same chaos and anxiety this year. Its even worst this year with conflicting guidelines.
Though i have got a seat for my child this year however my thoughts are with the parents who are still without any seat.
This is just my opinion and with due respect not to hurt anyone else feelings.
You echo my thoughts. Hear my case,
I applied in Manava Bharati School, Panchsheel Park which is a measly 100 meters from my place. I got the maximum points under neighborhood distance criteria along with a spike of 5 points for 1st born child. However, this school has 15 extra points for applicants who have their residence covered under the school's bus route. Now since I live so close by, I didn't opt for school transport and have hence lost those crucial 15 points, nett; my child didn't even qualify for DOL. Frustrated and disappointed, the schools, government all take parents for a ride.
That is so disappointing and annoying.. given the condition i hope u could have opted for tpt also just to secure your ward's admission in the school..
Your case is similar to mine... Ramjas School, RK Puram is only 150 mtr from my place. I also got 10 points for first born. However in distance criteria( max 50 points) they have taken it 10 kms which makes candidates even from INA/Mahipalpur/Lodhi Colony eligible for draw who have either siblings or whose parents are alumni to the school securing more than 60 marks which is secured despite being so close to school... ;-/I didnt even qualify for draw
You should have cross checked the list of applicants from School Website and get it rectified. Anyways concentrate on other options now. Best of Luck.
Hello Sakshi ,
I m really anxious . My daughter name is not there any of draw . Many school has changed their criteria after the form is submitted . I dont know what will happen tomorrow , if her name is not there in any of the school .I live in Mayur vihar phase 2 . I have filled almost 14 schools .
Can you suggest what should i do . The first list , waiting itself has so many candidates i don't know whether it will be fruitful to wait till 31st March . The school admission is totally luck driven or something else ..?
Ruchi
You will get idea by 2nd list on 17th either wait till 31 mar or block your seat in Noida school if not selected anywhere else
Same here . Filled forms in almost 30+ schools in South /SE/SW Delhi but no luck at all till this point of time.
Really worried. Either you should be a rich brat who can get a management seat or ask god for great luck
Chandan
Where are you putting up
