Dear Parents

We have a choice of Indian / AFBBS / Mount Carmel for our daughter in Pre Primary.

Unfortunately Mount Carmel is around 10km from our house and they are not giving school transport.

Please help us weigh the pro n cons and select the best school.

This is rather disheartening. I reside in Rohini and I had "successsfully' registered in many nearby schools as per the process. Now I know I didn't registered in all of them but the most prominent ones which counts to almost 10-12 schools. And honestly I expected my son to get selected in either one of them especially the really near ones. Considering there are many in a close proximity. But unfortunately my son haven't got selected in any of the draws. That's destiny. But the sad part is the diversity in the point system and the shortcomings of it. Take VGS, Rohini for example. Its just next block from my house but even after getting 60 points for that my son is not qualified for the draw because the minimum points required for the draw were 70 and the remaining were given for Siblings, Staff and Girl child. I don't see the logic here. I deserve the chance as well as its my first child, which many schools are still following. I had a bad run at Sachdeva, Bal Bharati, DAV, Heritage as well. And even after compiling to all the norms and paperwork, Maxfort school disqualified my wards name. And the only source to realize this was a sheet on the notice board on the gate of the school.

Similarly DPS Rohini. I had successfully registered online and got a valid reg no. But when I found my child's name missing from the selected candidates for the draw which required minimum 45 points. I came to realize that we got 40 points and missing 5 were that for the first child affidavit of which I was never intimidated and informed. I have provided that to rest of the schools and I would have provided them as well but I don't know when did they introduced this new requirement. They could at least send a SMS or email, just like they did while informing the registration. So I lost my chance there as well.

Hi Ishan,

Sorry  to hear that. I got an email from DPS Rohini twice to submit affidavit even though the DOL was not successful.

I don't know why they missed sending you the notification. You may take it up with the school though it won't help now and will divert your time from trying from other schools.

Really sorry to hear this out Ishan. Its the sad state of our education system. Blaming would not lead u anywhere. So be positive and keep trying. Select a few schools u want for ur child. Make a well drafted application addressing Principal and before second list give two or three applications showing it keeness to get admitted it ward to their esteemed institution. Give in person. This will surely make some way forward and u will get a direction. People will be securing seats in first list and after second they will move to better schools as per their criteria and this process will keep going till April end. So u just try with the motive that h have to secure a seat and rest leave on GOD.
