Other than first list and WL, there are few kids who have been admitted in MQ. Also there will be EWS kids.

  1. I simply commented on your logic that “this  means the 75 parents who’s kids are selected in first list refuse to send their ward in BVN” because I felt that this is not a correct logic/analysis and you have responded by making baseless allegation that I should not be partial and should think logical. The very fact that you have not directly replied to my analysis and are diverting the issue shows that you have also realized that your logic is not correct.

If any school is most shout than why the people are not interested to take admission when their name appears in the first list.

  1. You have mentioned that there are many queries regarding BVN and the people raising queries are seekers. I fully agree with you that they are admission seekers but here again you have failed to differentiate between admission seekers, called for interaction cases and admission offered cases. So all the people raising queries may be seekers but not all may be called for interaction cases and admission offered cases. Also you need to know the difference between different processes followed for General Category and Management Quota seats which I have clarified in my earlier posts. Also, you will appreciate that more the no of seekers for a school more popular/better is the school.

Here we are talking about the people who are selected in draw of lots because they are first time facing this things or sibling or alumni. The kids who’s parents are professional or well off their kids are easily selected in 6-7 schools as all the schools do profiling.

  1. I feel and I think most parents will agree with me that we all parents are here to seek help as well as help others selflessly/impartially by sharing their views/information/feedback etc. and not to promote or establish the supremacy of any particular school even if we are alumni. Whatever I have posted here about any school including BVN is based on facts and my information/feedback which may be sometimes wrong or may not match with others. But this does not mean that we are partial. You have been following my posts about BVN. If you find any information factually incorrect, please let it be known and I will be the first person to correct myself.

I only like to say that let the parents decide which school is good or which is not because everyone have their own priority. After all, all these schools are B grade school and small ups and downs doesn’t matter.

Who 75% sir... See compair wid bvn and mi and dps then bvn is after mi and dps but if u compair wid lps gb or any other then my personal research is bvn is better... Being a psychologist I luk many aspects and facts for my kid so I choosen bvn... Rest own choice of any parents but practicality is ...practicality...if I also got mi option then I can also left bvn but not for other schools
But most important is ur child growth.. Any school and teachers is gives only support.. Any school will give environment only rest is Depand upon child... And most important home environment too. So chilled out and constraint upon kids behavior and adaptation ability

Rakesh

There are two sides of a coin. Just want to mention other side of coin. Please don’t take it as BVN vs GB.

  1. As u see there are flood of queries for BVN in the forum that mean they are calling people. But in the case of GBS it’s very few its show that they already have enough students in the list. –
    1. Queries don’t mean that everyone is being called.
    2. More the queries/seekers, better/more popular is the school.
    3. Different process for General and MQ seats. Calls for MQ seats and not for General seats. Since you have been following BVN for a long time, no one would know better than you that BVN is very transparent and fair in General seats selection/allocation. For MQ all schools have autonomy. Is GB offering MQ seats through DOL without profiling and/or any other criteria?
  2. The fee structure is very transparent as it’s shown on the website. –
    1. GB has only posted fee details for 2016-17. For current year 2017-18, fee yet to be decided. Why it has not been decided by the time admission process starts.
    2. BVN has mentioned Fee for current year with and without transport.

  1. No pressure on kids till grade 5 as the study patterns is same as Mother international.—
    1. All good schools change/update/upgrade as per changing environment. BVN is one of them.
    2. Over emphasize on a particular thing may result in shock e.g. when you suddenly move from No Books to Books at senior levels. In the name of Internationalization, we should not forget requirements of our Indian conditions particularly if we have to live in India.
  2. No canteen in the school as it encourages kids to have home cooked food.
    1. While home cooked food is good, midday meal gives them an opportunity to enjoy different kinds of food/cuisine.
    2. Midday meal inculcates equality among students as same food is served to everyone.
    3. Children don’t look at others food and complain about Menu. Learn to eat all kind of food/vegetables
  3. No uniform in pre-school.
    1. How this can be plus point? All schools follow Uniforms as this inculcates equality. This is very important as students from all status groups study in same class/school.
    2. Uniform ensure safety and easy identification of school children.
  4. Actually in the rating chart GBS got 100% when it’s a talk about value for money. BVN have swimming pool cause of this it got extra 10 marks which make the school above Gyan bharati.
    1. I don’t know which rating chart you are referring to. I mentioned about BVN ranking by DOE based on CBSE class XII result. This does not consider any marks for swimming pool etc.
    2. I find BVN fee quite reasonable (Rs 33000/- for April to July) as compared to other more expensive schools.
  5. for parents the selection process of BVN is just like an interview of govt job where if u have source than u are selected otherwise ???????
    1. One needs to know the difference between different processes followed for General Category and Management Quota seats. Is GB offering MQ seats by DOL.
    2. For General Seats, BVN is not only transparent but has also fairly distributed seats to Siblings, Alumni by fixing maximum percentage for these categories unlike most of other schools including GB, who give all seats first to their Alumni and Siblings. Also all admissions by BVN are strictly as per DOL including WL and all details are posted on their website while there is no clue of this on GB site.

Dear All

Pls see comment posted by me yesterday before all this discussions as per parents first hand   reviews from many years

Both schools are good

but

http://www.admissionsnursery.com/forum/topics/gyan-bharti-appejay-s...

While people are having an intense discussion on BVN vs GBS, somebody from an unknown school from a small town of Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh or Bihar has topped UPSC/CAT. No offence to anybody, but it's parents who mould their kids what they become, schools are just a medium.

Yes ,parents role is very imp.

I completely agree with u Shobhit....Parents are the one who decide the future of a kid not the school..

Shobhit

I believe that both Parents and school together play an important role in the development of kid besides kids own efforts and capabilities. While every parent tries his best to give good environment at home they also want best school within their means. Problem is availability of good schools and therefore this stressful phase of getting into a good school. Just because a kid from a say Govt school has passed or topped a prestigious exam, will all parents send their children to Govt school when they have better options. I feel the answer would be no. So neither parents nor schools nor kids alone can do wonders though exceptions may be there. Its joint efforts by all concerned.

As regards discussions in this forum, I feel these are friendly and healthy and are necessary and help parents in taking right decision. As it is very few information and guidance  is available and this forum through its moderators and members contribution is of great help to all parents.

Dr. Rakesh,

My point was that primary responsibility of shaping a child's future lies with the parents. There are very good students in not-so-good schools and vice-versa. Yes, we all make efforts to get our child in 'best' school but the criterion of best may differ from person to person, so School X may be best for one while School Y may be best for the other. But at the end of the day both will face shrugged shoulders if their children don't perform.

There is no denying that this is a wonderful forum and I am indebted for the help and support I got from the Moderator and active parents like you. Thanks again!

On a lighter note, I read somewhere that India is a country with highest per capita opinion. I am one of those increasing the number ;)
