od criteria - why is LVIS selling "expensive" forms to people who dont need meet their apparent vicinity parameter- UNFAIR and a method of making money! I found LVIS to be particularily unfair as they mentioned they were only taking kids in vicinity however they have offered admission to folks around DLF-III, IV, V and people in Sec 55/57 were refused..Sec 55/57 is anyday closer to LVIS - I didnt apply at this school but a know a lot of parents who have faced the brunt of this over hyped school. That way DPS is lot more better as the process is transparent.
Evaluating kids during interaction is a totally wrong practice and it wont take the school's reputation very far in the coming years. These young kids shouldn't be evaluated and it is illegal!

having said that....when we initially went to deposit forms at Amity we reached a little early and we were made to stand outside the school as apparently school doesn't have a good enough reception area to seat parents. For me this was like an utter lack of infra....when we entered it was all concrete in contrast to DPSGV where a small walk through the open area surrounded by a ground with colorful swings made it very appealing (this is very subjective though but it mattered to me). Further in Amity bus there is no school teacher in morning and in after noon during the drop time there is only a maid unlike most schools where teachers do accompany kids. Finally as far as I could find out, Amity bus doesn't come inside Shipra suncity where I stay...these were enuf things to put me off.…

all comes to the options we have in Gurgaon. As Ankit mentioned, maximum schools here are admitting 2.5+ for Pre nursery and 3.5+ for Nursery as on 1st April. My son will be 3+ by 1st April but not 3.5, so I either have options to choose Amity, GD Goenka or another 2-3 schools for Nursery otherwise Pre Nursery in all other schools (same in Blue Bells).
Even if I choose Salwan, DPS, LV, DAV, Suncity etc, I will still be getting admission in Pre Nursery (or 3 classes before grade 1). The same is the case for me at Blue Bells.
Also, as I understand, that child should be 6+ when in 1st grade and that criteria is also fulfilled in all the above schools. However in Amity, GD Goenka he will be 5+ in 1st grade. While I understand this is also the scenario in Delhi schools as well but it all ends up on what is the exact month of birth of the child for eligibility.
I have attached a file which shows the age in each class for these 2 different age eligibilities in schools.…

2 very long chats just now - one with a Scottish child's parent and another with an ex-employee.
My Conclusion - not that western, they do have Indian prayers/languages taught/sung/spoken, kids are given a balance of both, quite activity-based and inclined towards learnings which help in day to day life and not just textbook knowledge.
After all the final behaviour will depend on family upbringing too, so why blame only a school for that, isn't it? But of course the father's opinion is eagerly awaited :). …

Suncity fee structure
Reply by Anand Gupta 18 hours ago
For nursery, they have a monthly fee of 5700 + meals 750. Annual fee is 12k/- . One time admission fee is separate from this.
positive reviews but age is 3.5 yrs
5 Presidium has mixed reviews and parents not satisfied
Rest all other good schools take at 3.5 yrs and are over with admissions…
He is in blue bells and we are planning to shift him to some other school which is good in academics and extra curicullar. But academics comes first in priority, since we feel we can still put him in sports , swimming etc on our own but academics cannot be compensated else where.
We dont want to take any risk, this time and we want to be extra cauticious. Would it be a good decision to change the school from Blue Bells Model to DAV or salwan or DPS, susant look.
We spoke in DPS, sec 45 since it is good in academics. However, for KG they have asked us to come in Feb and confirm for vacancy. ANd i know it will not be that easy to get admission in DPS, sector 45.
We also inquired in Suncity/GD Goenka Pub , but to us it seems that they are over charging.
Thank you for your valuable feedback.

n Shriram aravali (else would have opted for Heritage /Uma Seth in Shriram aravali and few more could not get convinced with the ideology of Shikshanter (Now See Gaurav Gupta Comments also He's working in Top Brass with Private Bank)
Also One of my friend working with TOI shifted from Suncity to amity last year as she felt its a rich man's school (due to financial constraints)
3 years back i might have gone for shikshanter
Anyway Congratulations
SEE ITS A PERSONAL CHOICE ( what feedback the mothers gave me that Shikshanter looks like Gurukul and we are talking of International schools these Days ..with no offence to Shikshanter)…
