ng for applying and I have spoken to those ppl... So humble and wise.. It will remind you of the values we were brought up with. Am not sure but I think even Heritage doesn charge anything for registration(another big name LVIS cannot touch.. specially with this high headed behavior... I don't see that happening ever) and what values will they impart our kids when they have none.. But honestly the LVIS principal rightly said.. "Sanskars come from home only" and I am quoting her here. Honestly it would be so nice if kids dont carry her sanskars but that of their own family!!! Now coming to the distance criteria.. N this is my analysis but I think I am right.. Throughout gurgaon they have the same charges.. So what do they want.. Kids from closeby but a distance wherein they would need the school transport.. too close means parents dropping them off or kids walking up to the school.. Loss of good Rs 2200 per month per kid.. This might look trivial but per kid over a period of 14-15 yrs it matters.. Reception.. Pathetic.. Principal... don't want to dissect her further.. Reminding me of Munna bhai movie.. we should just say "Get well soon" to her.. Now getting on Suncity.. Another fab experience.. Awesome infra.. Grt School tour.. Well informed teachers and an articulate principal.. The school oozes positive vibes and LVIS is just the opposite .. and anyways.. they only have a corporate look alike building to boast of.. a small play area for kids.. but wheres the greenery.. M not sure if they have horse riding but I did see a horse hopping on the CEMENTED area.. Yawn!!!
I am sure I am forgetting a lot of other words of praise/wisdom LVIS deserves but this should be good for now.…

ch may help u with your decision:
1) Some of the staff at school (esp the front office staff) do have an attitude. But thats expected from all top schools - try speaking to the front office staff in Shriram. However, the class teachers are extremely friendly and cooperative. I am happy primarily with the school because of the quality of teaching staff. The class teachers are always receptive to any issues or problems related to your child and always helping out. You can reach teachers at their mobiles in case of any emergency.
The other staff is extremely helpful too. My kid was only 2.5 when he had to go by bus to school and used to cry like a baby while boarding the bus but the conductor used to pamper him and make him sit with him which made him very comfortable. Now also he sits in the middle of 2 teachers in the bus and gossips with them as friends.
2) I am quite impressed with the teaching methodology followed in class. Its a mixture of project based learning (like Shikashantar and Heritage) and traditional teaching methodologies (like in DPS, Suncity). They also exert the right pressure on students, not too much and too light.
3) Regarding fees, its high but is comparable to other schools like Shriram and Heritage - they are all in same range. May be Scottish high is higher but not by a lot, may be just be a couple of thousand bucks a month. The dress was just designed once by JJ Valaya (which I do think is going a bit overboard) but that was just once years back and is not redesigned again every year.
4) Regarding some people feeling that only rich kids' children going to SH, that's quite untrue and I can vouch for that by meeting parents of my kids friends. Most of the kids are of working parents who prefer day boarding as its convenient to them.
Hope this helps. My kid has been going there from pre nursery and now in nursery and initially he was extremely shy, moody and picky especially in class but the teachers have been super understanding about it and called us to the class to talk about it and devise a plan to help my kid feel more social and confident about himself. He has really come a long way in the last 1.5 years and thus I am extremely happy with the school.
Happy to answer any of other queries you might have. …

ds for school and quality feedback from this site from several people. And have finalized our shortlist, thought it would be good to share with all of you as well:
Scottish High (First on my list)
Pros: Very positive and excellent feedback from parents, one parent who shifted their kid from another school are really very happy and pleased with the school. I met the kid too, even he is also very happy after the shift. Even the feedback from higher class parents is also very good. Their teaching methodology and quality of teachers is very good. They don't model kids, rather appreciate diversity. Founders seems to be focused and committed. They have a special needs department, wherein they help kids with special needs to study in mainstream.Teacher student ratio is good. They have day boarding, so from class 1 onwards kids comes back by 4 PM
Cons: Fees relatively on higher side. Infrastructure is good, but doesn't give a wow factor. I mean its not a 5 start type infrastructure.
Admission is on first come first served basis.
Heritage
Old, established and positive feedback from parents. Met parents of KG class students and they are really happy about the school and teachers. Teaching methodology is not based on rote, its conceptual and they lay great emphasis on understanding of basic concepts. Kids coming from rote background may find it very difficult and parents may perceive that its too easy. Very well balanced focus on extracurricular and academics. They also have a special needs department, wherein they have teacher student ration of 1:3. Quality of teachers are good and founders background relates well to education.
Cons: They dont have dress??? Its a bit difficult to digest and agree to their terms of no dress.
Shiv Nadar
Excellent feedback from parents, they are very happy to see the way their kids are developing. Quality of teachers seems to be the best in this school. We met few of them and they really seems to know what they are doing. They have something called as AHA program, wherein for one and a half hours focus is clearly on extra-curricular activities in a structured way. Their teacher student ratio is also good at 2 teachers for 25. Its a full day school with kid coming back home at 4 PM. Founders are committed to education, they already have schools by the name of VidyaGyan running in rural India where they are providing free education. Great charitable effort.
Cons: Though the planned infrastructure is very good, but, entire campus is yet not complete. Only half of the campus is ready. May take another one or two years to complete. Their fees is on a relatively higher side.
Admission is on lottery basis, now this lottery thingquite tricky.
GD Goenka
Pros: GD Goenka is reputed and known in education field. Good feedback from parent whose kids are going there. Infrastructure is quite good. Mixed feedback about teachers, largely its a positive feedback. Fees is not high as compared to above.
Cons: Franchise school and new. Actually its not that major constraint.
Admission is available quite easily.
Suncity (last on my list)
Pros: Established and big. Relatively low fee. Positive parents feedback and have good teachers.
Cons: Too much of homework and competitive environment amongst young kids. Seems to be very rigid admin, bus space is not guaranteed, but normally one gets the bus space.
Now the challenge is at few places admission is on the basis of interaction, first come first serve and at few places its on lottery basis.Keeping our fingers crossed with above shortlist. Please wish us best of luck.…
