Go for Prep in Amity otherwise you will be loosing one year of ur child.Amity n DPS 45 are almost same in academics.

Sakshi,

I have the following feedback from parents & teachers:

1) Teachers/ Principal in Amity 46 change frequently as there is lot of administrative intervention there

2) If we look at a longer perspective, toppers from class 12th are mostly from DPS - 45

My son is Jan 2010 born and is studying in Nursery in Presidium. Therefore, it's difficult for us to decide on DPS - 45 for Nursery (here he would have to repeat Nursery) or Amity - 46 for Prep....

None of the parents have given  any negative feedback about DPS-45, rather they are suggesting that base of your child will become strong.

Plz suggest...

Mani, Then go ahead, as DPS will not wait and moreover you don't have confirmed seat in Amity.

But i don't think toppers were from DPS sec 45 yes but from other DPS Delhi.

Thanks Sakshi for correcting.

Actually I wished to wait for Amity 46 (Amiown) results as there I will not be wasting a year of my kid. Actually last year my kid got through Amiown, but that time we did not got him admitted there. So we are believing that this year also he might get through Amity.

In DPS-45 the only drawback we have is that my son will have to repeat Nursery.

@Mani,

Agree to Sakshi's suggestion but here another question is if DPS will wait for your confirmation since Amiown will announce their list somewhere in mid or end of Oct,13.

DPS will not wait ...

Hii mani,
I have also applied for Amiown as my daughter is just 18 days shorter for 3.6 yrs criteria in most of Gurgaon schools.Meanwhile I received call for DPS 45 and I opted for tht(Pre nursery of course).reason behind
1. Amiown is taking 6-8 weeks for result declaration.i didn't wanted to take risk.
2. They are nt 100 percent sure to give transfer in amity 46 its 99 percent chances.They want you (parents)to attend workshops, extra activities on every 2nd n 4 th Saturday of the month in the school.(charge for the same is 300rs per day). In a way it's gud they are involving parents also in development for child but for me their intention is just to make money nothing else.as per the school this is the criteria if u r attending all the workshops,Ptms and Saturday activities then they will transfer your child to amity 46
3. Till date they are nt sure for fee as per the lady who took our interview its some where between 35 to 45 per quarter.
4. You need to pay admission fee again if your child gets transfer in amity 46 .
By considering all theses factors I have opted for DPS 45.
All the best.

@Himanshu,

Nice reasoning by you Himansu. Infact there is one thing which i am sure that this would be new information for most of the parents i.e. for attending meeting on 2nd & 4th saturdays parents need to pay to school which was never informed by the school authorities. Its not clear why they want this money.I don't think any other schools has ever asked parents to pay for attending the meetings.

Rest reasoning is very true.

Hi mr harihar,
Charges are there for attending workshops and extra activities on Saturdays not for meeting.Lady who took our interview informed us we charge a nominal amount for attending workshops etc.i cross checked the amount from one of my friend who's daughter is studying in this school.im also nt sure whether this 300 rs is per person or for both the parents.
Regards

@Himanshu,

Well ideally speaking what was told to us by school authorities was they in order to understand how is our child performing in school, what we need to teach at home & what is being taught in school, Amiown has an initiative in terms of having these interaction sessions/Meetings/Workshops etc. to which I duly agree that its a good way to get corrective action taken at right time & to ensure that our child is growing/learning things correctly.

But regarding charges for attending these so called workshops/sessions/meetings etc. nobody informed. Its not about " How much we need to pay or its more or less amount" but what i am not able to understand what is the basic reason for asking parents to pay for it. I mean parents are not going to attend these workshops as some picnic or outing, rather its basically to have interaction with teachers & to know how our kid is performing in school & what needs to be done for his betterment.

Hope most of the parents would agree to it.

I completely agree with you Mr. Harihar.Its a good idea to involve parents in school activities. But if ur charging for the same then intention is just to make money nothing else.
But we are helpless.

you did a good job. i wont recommend amity 46 at all. my daughter is in this school. all academics burden is on parents. till kg it was ok but in class 1 too much syllabus and pressure on child. i am trying to change her school. dps45 better than amity.
