Dear Sakshi, My little angel is 26 January 2012 born Thus will be 3+ on March 31,2015. Location wise I have advantage as all good schools located in DLF , Sohna Road or near Golf Course extension are very much/ approachable from my residence. I am confused ( May be like other parents) on the following issues : 1) Few of the Schools like GD Goenka -Sector 48, Amity Group, Ridge Valley are having the cut of age of 3+ Yrs ( As on 31March /1st April 2015 )For Nursery Admission and child will reach to class 1 in 5 yrs of age while the reputed school like Shriram, DPS-45, Sun World, Lotus Valley and New HDFC school etc are having 3.5 yrs/4+ criteria - so the child ( falling under my category 3+ yrs on a march 31 2015 ) have the two options - 1) get the admission in nursery to school following 3+ criteria or wait for complete 1 year for getting in good school Shriram etc. The former save ONE crucial year in child's life which can help in long run while child is preparing for competitive exams like IIT/ AIIMS or Commerce as child is ONE year ahead in academics. However the risk is the basic foundation of the child as the credentials of school who are accepting 3+ are not yet fully established - I am totally confused on this - May share your view/ perspective 2) how you rank the schools GD Goenka, Amity Group ( sector 43,46,Amity Global,Amity international),ridge Valley, Pathways, Millennium or any other school in ur opinion following 3+ criteria- by reading the threads I think GD Goenka is best ??? 3) If I decide to wait for a year then what are the pre school/ play school you recommends ( ranking)for my child - The Shriram Early Years,Pathways, GD Goenks, Lotus Valley, The Shriram GLOBAL pre, Pumpkin House, DPS sector 45, GEMS Modern Academy,Sunworld, Anand, Pallavan, mother's pride - galleria or Sushant apartment),Pumpkin House,Medhan,I Discoveri XSEEd,Modern Montessori International, DLF Phase I - request to share views/ opinion pl

Dear Maneesh

As a parent my suggestion would be to wait for a year , as the early years are very crucial for the base foundation, which needs to be very strong. A friend of mine is not able to meet the criteria just by 4 days, her daughter is Oct 4, 2011 born but she has decided to wait for a year. I have heard Shriram Global pre is very good.

Hello Maneesh,

Last year I was in similar confusion as you are this year. I would have sent my child to nursery in GD or other schools with 3 year age criteria and saved one year but taking advise from other I sent my child to Nursery in same play school and this year since he is eligible all good schools in Gurgaon I will apply for nursery to all my sort listed schools. In case he didn't get through then I will go back to GD or St Xaviers or others to KG not nursery....

People (including nursery teachers) gave me feedback that in general elder children do well in long run then younger ones in same class...

Maneesh, Rani, Sandeep, your delima is quite valid. confusion is because gurgaon schools follow different age criteria. My question is, if 3+ was not the right age for nursery admissions in formal school then why would DOE Delhi keep that as the right age? if you see, all schools of delhi take 3+ as on 31 march for nursery class.

But Maneesh Ji, 3+ children are doing well in Delhi schools. It is better to admit 3+ in Nursery. One can also apply again for Nursery in the next year for 4+ schools. I believe join Nursery for 3+ rather than continue with play school. May be you don't get chance for 4+ in the schools of your choice.

Hi Maneesh,

I completely agree to your thought process is for last one week have spent considerable time talking to lot of people but all mixed reactions.

Also, i would like to add Shalom Hills in your list as options for 3+ now and look for a change in the later years.

Sakshi - would be great to hear your thoughts and infact to hear from everyone on this aspect

Hi Sakshi,

I am lookling for admission in 2nd standard for my daughter . we are based in sector 57. Which school can I considered for her admissio. Also, is age criteria still there for admission in 2nd standard . Her DOB is Dec 2008.

Actually, I am based out of gurgaon and are planning to shift next year so need info on that.

Also, can we considered for admission starting next year or we have to fill forms in this year only.

MY DAUGHTER IS 18 OCT 2012 BORN, same situation...my son is in DPS 45, I have planned for her pre-nur admn 2015-16 in play school n then apply for nursery admn in 3+ schools. I personally do not like the concept of pre-nur and in big school its a nooo for me as a 2+ is too small , innocent and delicate. They need space and their kinda environment..they need to be nurtured but just for her lil grooming for big school wil put her in pre-nur.

Hi sakshi do u know the admission fees of blue bells modal school.and how is the school.

Anjelina

Just 4-5 months old  school. Management different from original St Xaviers .(Feedback by parents)

hi Sakshi,

Can you pl help me suggesting admission to class I i.e. when admissions  normally starts? do I need to contact relevant schools right away? I am residing  in Sushant Lok I and prefer Amity , Power grid & DPS sector 45.

Thanks in advance...!

Abhijit
