No Renuka. I called up today and mentioned that they will be sending SMS for Pre Nursery in September. Nothing there till then!

I am worried now about DPS Sec 45 draw on Friday. In case I am selected, I will have to book the seat here.

My first preference was Salwan because of the distance, fee and other factors.

What will be your preference? Would you take up DPS Sec 45 and ignore Salwan later?

The rate of fee increase in DPS was phenomenal. Some of the parents have not even applied due to this behavior and high fee.

But Rajat DPS sec 45 is much better than Salwan, I think that will be good, In DPS one time fee is high and monthly is almost eqiuvalent.

I agree Rani that DPS Sec 45 is better than Salwan in many aspects. I do not worry about the one time fee. However the monthly fees (including Transport and Annual charges) in DPS is almost double that of Salwan. I did the calculation yesterday:

DPS: 13217

Salwan: 7308

Another important point is that the rate of increase in fee is too high from last 2 years:

One time fee (2012-2013): 65000

One time fee (2015-2016): 110000  [70% increase in 2 years]

2nd Quarter onwards [Includes Gurgaon Non AC transport] (2012-2013): 23035

2nd Quarter onwards [Includes Gurgaon Non AC transport] (2015-2016): 31650 [37% increase in 2 years]

If you observe, you will find that the infra of DPS is not as per the standard of the fees that they charge (Unless I am missing some additional activities\facilities\infra that has been added in last 2 years)

From inside it is much like a traditional school, but the fee charged is as of a New age school. The campus is also split into 3 different locations - 1. Pre Nursery and Nursery, 2. KG to IInd, 3. IIIrd to XIIth

thanks Rajat... I did not calculated in such details but you are right. I have applied for nursery for my daughter, now i want that Salwan result should come earlier.... because paying such huge amount as excess is of no use.

Exactly, this is about the popularity of DPS Sec 45 these days. I also think that DPS should be able to retain the position well, given their background in education. However I am uncertain if this fee hike will remain similar in the coming years as this franchisee is again run by real estate group (Jaipuria)

Ankit, I am not sure about other schools, but Salwan is not a dabba school. It is a traditional school but the acedmics and extra curricular activities are quite strong in there.
