A lot of parents keep on asking age related queries for admission - minimum age etc. While this is school specific to an extent, but minimum and maximum age is largely driven by the respective State rules (as also mentioned by the CBSE board). For Gurgaon, the rule has been framed by department of School Education, Haryana through Haryana School Education Rules 2003. To quote the rule on age criteria, following is the extract:
"131.(1) Children between the age of 3 to 5 years shall be admitted in pre primary / nursery schools.
(2) The minimum age for admission in a primary school shall be five years for class I., No pupil, who has attained the age of 20 years up to the 10th class and 22 years upto XII class, may be retained in recognised school; [Provided that the Director shall be competent for relaxation in the maximum age of admission.]***
(3) The admission of a child of the specified age group shall be made effective with
effect from the first day of the academic year."

One key piece of news here. DAV Sector 14's principal Anita Makkar has left DAV and joined HDFC school. DAV 14 was special because of her hard work and now that she has left the school one has to access how things will turn up. She was known to stand up to political pressures and not admit reffered students.

She is the sole reason why DAV did not go OLF and Blue Bells way, despite being well behind both its peers in education for long. OLF got left behind as it is only till 10th. Being a convent run by nuns they were not convinient extending the school to XII. They were planning at some time to turn girls only school which would have been a wise move.
Hi,
Am unable to find details of fee structure for Delhi Schools - Please help to share the link
Regards
Rahul
We went to expo yesterday and are confused between GD Goenka Public School and Salwan Public school. Can somebody please share the personal experience for both the schools.
What we are looking for is a school with good focus on academics along with the overall development of the child. We are hearing that GD Goenka does focus on the extra curricular activities, which is good - but we are a bit worried if while doing all this they are lacking behind in academics as compared to Salwan (because Salwan is very good in that as per feedback from few parents I have personally met).
Parents/Sakshi - please suggest.
Salwan is not good in which way. They put too much pressure on children. Example:
Nursery Assignment Project: Make Solar Cooker.
I asked their teacher about teacher student ratio in Nursery. They did not give a number dispite repeated probing.
GD Goenka Public I am considering it. Why not also consider Heritage, Shri Ram, Shikshantar, SUncity, Lotus Valley, Amity, DAV, DPS 45 & DL instead?
Ignore Salwan like plague.
