Sumit,

This criteria is unfair for those who do not have any good schools in 5 km radius. I live in South Delhi there are no good school on DDA land within 5 km of radius.

totally agreed with Shobit. system should be applicable to all the schools. Then only all the parents will get benefit of this neighbourhood criteria. In my case,

I have 4-5 good schools nearby my house, but those schools don't come under that 298 list.

And those schools which fall under the category of 298 list, are beyond 6 km from my house.

So ultimately i m not getting any benefit of this DOE criteria of 0-1, 1-3, 3-6 km.

System /Rules should be applicable to all the schools. There should be centralised form for all the schools. Like we have in Delhi University.

DOE cannot enforce its rules on private unaided schools on non-DDA/concessional land as it is treated as a private business. Govt. cannot define their selection criteria/fees, other than banning those absurd 51 criteria which were considered against the RTE.

Just a question for all

What about those parents who dont have any good school (which comes in the 298 list )  near to their house ?

neither they can rely on other schools, nor this DOE criteria is favoring them by any means as DOE guidelines is applicable to only 298 schools.

I am not against the DOE distance criteria. The only problem is, its applicable to only 298 schools. So if u r lucky enough, ur residence may come within the range of 01, 1-3, 3-6 km. Otherwise no benefit of this distance criteria

WHAT ABOUT THE GUIDELINE THAT NOT MORE THAN 2 CHILDREN CAN BE TAKEN INTO ADMISSION BY A SINGLE SCHOOL (SIBLING CHILD INCLUDED)???
