Hi
My child got admission last year in DPS MR.I wont say its a bad school.
What u are saying..i was thinking same last year..
but want to mention here that atleast this school have draws in front of all the parents..no cheating.. not like many schools those print the list of selected candidates and as parents w are not aware what the criteria is..
Rest I would ask Sakshi maam to comment on this...
Agree. It is not a bad school at all.
DPS MR has really improved under the new principal and there is a clear focus on over all development & academics. All kids have to participate in class assemblies besides academics. In Nursery & Prep the focus is more on development activities. In class 1,2, 3 & 4 there is a balance between academics and extra curricular activities. From class 5 the emphasis slowly starts to move more on academics.
It seems most parents are not aware or talk about DPS MR basis hear say or half baked truths. My son is studying and i can first hand vouch for the school & my comments
Dear Ravi ji.
As I mentioned above, definitely school has improved in last 1-1.5 yrs after Manohar ji taking over as principal. Firstly I am not sharing half baked truth as mine is a joint family and nephew goes to DPS MR. It is indeed a very good school however not desired one for most of the parent. Like my daughter name came up in WL2 today, still she got through another better one so I am NOT EVEN considering DPS MR.
It is above average school definitely better than any mediocre school.
My ques to forum was - if it is that good a school, for 127 gen seats - how come 1st list plus a wait list 1. Then another 2nd list and subsequent Wait List 2. I am only wondering and asking experts "WHY SO MANY PARENTS NOT ADMITTING THEIR CHILD TO DPS MR FROM ALL PREVIOUS LIST DECLARED".
I am sure you would agree as parent of child, we all are concerned over above question before admission.
Hi Maam
As per the article above, will it impact the students in any case and the school overall ???
As I have earlier the principal was not good and therefore it impacted the school name and fame, but the new Principal Mr.Manohar Lal is very nice and handled the mgmt properly...
NO But overall reputation has gone down from last few years and many parents have opted for bluebells or amity few times over dps mathura road in previous 3-4 yrs.
It was just posted as one parent was asking about principal but i have removed that not to hamper schools reputation
Even Vasant Valley n some other most sought after schools are not transparent at the time of admission like bluebells/Amity n few more but the feedback of parents after 1-2 yrs they send us after they take admission ,we share reviews
either decide on transparency or genuine parents reviews, its parents call.
ITS NOT JUST DPS MR but even DPS RKP AND DPS VK also come up with 4-5 list every year. I think the reasons may be:
1) No. of seats is high >200 in each so higher chances of shuffling students to differnt school
2) DPS RKP N DPS VK quite transparent in giving seats so for all vacant seats they keep on doing draw of lots and give 4-5 lists, but other school like amity/BVN call personally to parents of good profile for filling vacant seats even when they are not in waiting list( personal experience)
rightly said..
DPS MR have 240 seats and around 8 sections
Bhawna
I strongly disagree with you as far as BVN is concerned. Even now you can check on their site as to how they are calling strictly as per their WL based on DOL. They are fair and transparent to the extent that they are not giving all their general seats to alumni and siblings as is being done by so called other transparent schools who offer all seats first to alumni and siblings. In BVN they have fixed a percentage for siblings and alumni e.g 10% for alumni. If there are more than 10% alumni then they are selected as per DOL. As a result many siblings and Alumni also fail to get admission and I know this personally. To support this I would also like to refer to posts in this forum only by an honorable member that she could not get admission for her child despite being sibling case scoring 95 marks This is as far as general seats are concerned.
Now coming to MQ seats. For these seats schools are free to admit as per their own criteria and all schools are doing it by profiling etc. So what is wrong if BVN is also doing it when it is permissible.
So before defaming any school, one should first understand the complete process. Otherwise, not only the school gets bad name for no reason but also the parents will get misguided and take wrong decisions.
