Salwan gives assignments to nursery student - make solar cooker.
I have been born and brought up in GRG. In my time top schools were OLF, BLue Bells and DAV. No one in my school days or since ever considered Salwan as good school. It was at best par with lower level schools.
Now if I base Salwan's ranking on Hindustan Times survey they rank Salvan below mediocre on study index. They rank Salwan among the worst on infrastructure and facility index.
Only thing Salwan ranks well is 'value system', 'social accountability' and 'value for money' categories.
- Now how do u measure this school imparts better value system and social accountability?
- On Value of Money they are making a data mistake. They say Salwan charge Rs 1,30,000/- per annum as fees and among the best value for money. But Shikshantar @ Rs 1,13,000, DPS 45 @ Rs 1,00,000, Lotus Vallue @ 99,000 are bad for value for money. Common. It just seems to be a case of pumping up the ranking of Salwan School by Hindustan Times for reasons unknown.
Ask parents in Sector 15; none from an affluent family will consider Salwan School.
OLF is still a good school but people say...it is very difficult to get admission over there
OLF was good till 2000. Its till 10th. I did my education from OLF and though I loved being there; post 10th you have to again run to GRG and Delhi schools for admissions. Its a nerve wreching excercise. You will have to pay admission fees again. These days GRG parents avoid OLF for the above mentioned reason.
Hows the education system there, if if would be good, will not that student get admission in 11th in good school, please suggest.
Also, fee parameter also considerable there. but as per my knowledge it start from KG1 and with age 4.
I also want to know, student will get transferred to OLF senior school automatically from junior school
Please confirm....it would be great help
@ankit jain....waiting for your reply...it would be very helpful.
Also, please confirm they don't o discrimination b/w boy and girl for admission, i have a boy.
Thanks Ankit, this is insightful for me. Nothing personal here, I am also looking for a good school for my son and struggling like many other parents.
About the assignment of Solar cooker to nursery student. I agree this is not logical. But can this be something like a incorrect interpretation, as in to draw a solar cooker in drawing book?
I had some good feedback from a few parents, so I shared the same. But what you are saying may also be another side of the story.
My wife is an Asst Prof in KR Mangalam University so have good feedback from peers (some have children in Salwan) and few students as well.
About the fee, I don't know if you picked up from the HT review (it might be wrong). I did the analysis with actual fee of 2014, so it was lower.
Yes Rajat. I was just blasting the review of HT where they have high ranking to Salwan. I am still trying to understand the hype around Salwan. They are rattafication school where the pressure is put on students and teachers so that they can show good CBSE results.
What is the fees being charged by Salwan?
Annual Fees
Caution Money
Tution Fees

Ankit, would it not be good if we dont use the management behind any schools in the manner like real estate group. I think it is not good. Jaipuria is okay. we can use educationationist background.
Dear friend, sorry if i hurt your sentiments.
Hi Rajat,
you would get some time to deposit the fee in DPS, you don't have to pay immediately. have you applied under some quota or General ?
i hope by that time results for Salwan would be out.
Cheers!!
Hello Jyoti, DPS will give 48 hours to deposit the fee if selected. So, the time will be till Tuesday EOD.
Salwan selection for Pre-Nursery will be over by mid or end September. Hence a big gamble if on both sides.
Hi All
I have got confirmation from Salwan today. They are asking to pay fee by 29th Aug. Now here is a dilemma as DPS's result would be out on 30th and DAV on 1st Sep. please suggest what to do. In a great fix :(
