Thanks a ton sakshi

Mohik,

Congrats.... Saw your past comments , you were very particular about Amity Sector 43... Any specific reason...May please share for benefit of the forum.

Maneesh,My elder daughter is in class 4th in Amity Sec 46,at later stage I also put younger daughter in Amity Sec 46, Amity sec 46 starts from class 1 onwards, and I dn't want to opt for Amiown because of its cost.and moreover I am pretty much satisfied with Amity Sec 46 so that was the main reason for Amity Sec 43.

Sakshi
When RTE clearly states that schools cannot discriminate children seeking admission, then why no one has objected to screening process in gurgaon schools.
Most of the gurgaon parents are highly educated, yet unaware of the fact that law prohibits schools from interacting with child/parents, asking to write essays and on top of it giving marks for the same.
Moreover, why schools are forcing to buy prospectus costing between 500 to 6000?
Plus capitation fee ranging from 50000 to 100000 being charged at the time of admission.
It is time that Mr Vohra raise these isssues in the media against schools like Sriram, DPS, LVIS & likes. That would be a great help to the parent community. Thanks

Monika

Mr Vohra  raised all these issues in Gurgaon edition Of TOI/HT but the Govt official says RTE is applicable from 6 yrs to 14 yrs and no spl rules can be made for gurgaon

Basically Education Dir is not in Gurgaon but in Punchkula and have given free hand to schools. As Education is state subject.

Thanks for efforts put in by Mr Vohra...
Hi Sakshi, I need some guidance on choosing between DPS 45 and lotus valley for nursery admission for my daughter. Which is better on the following parameters ?: academic rigor language skills, all round development, student teacher ratio, quality of teachers, secured environment

How is Shikshantar school... Is it a modern day school (A/C classes etc..) or conventional type..

Kanupriya

Leave message for Gaurav .He is active and his ward is in lotus valley .

Hi Kanupriya,

I am again sharing my perspective on this.

I've seen people suggest and opt for both - with most people likely to go for DPS 45, given that there is greater evidence of  performance behind DPS 45 and certainly a much stronger brand /lineage. I opted for LVIS.

I had heard about DPS 45 being a conventional school, without much individual attention and focus on extra-curriculor activities/modern facilities from parents in my circle. I can be incorrect on that as I did not have a personal experience with the school, but I decided to go ahead with what I had picked from the conversations around me.

Now, on my limited experience with Lotus Valley so far - I am extremely happy about my decision to opt for  it. I see  a lot of emphasis on all round activities, with the little ones exposed to  virtues of values, culture, religion, general awareness, dramatics, art/craft,  outdoorn activities, sports (even in pre nursery). Academically, I do not have a reference point to compare with, but do see emphasis in teaching alphabets/numbers in innovative ways. I know that the principal - Anita Malhotra (ex DPS RK Puram principal) is driving the school and feel confident of their focus in acads also. There are 2 teachers for 20 students in prenursery (don't know about higher classes) and sufficent security measures in place for us to feel satisfied (the busses drop kids in school perimeter, there is a teacher in the bus until the last drop along with a guard and at attendent). Trust this helps.

Its your  call, visit both schools, evaluate their vision, philosophy, read, interact with  parents and decide...Good luck!

Thanks Gaurav

One more member had some different query

one correction Principal is ex DPS Dwarka (Ms Anita Malhotra ) Dr Shayama Chona is ex principal DPS RK Puram who is Patron.

Hello parents

I haven't recieved any reply yet..eagerly waiting for your inputs. I am reposting my concern, pls. suggest:

Hi all,

Can anyone comment on the expenses at LVIS, apart from their fees.Their prospectus itself costed us Rs. 2500(which was quite on the higher end as compared to other schools). I have the fees structure with me. But my query goes for the expenses incurred at the other curricular activities and events from time to time. How frequently they charge for all these. The facilities like dramatics, theatre etc which they claim or are standing high on, are these all charged extra?

I just want to be doublly confirmed about the in and outs of the schools before sending my child into it.We as parents, should have a mindset beforehand, about the school's functioning.

Thanks and pls. guide genuinly.

Yes correct - thanks, I've provided views on that too.
