So finally somewhere the ratio is a bit better and my final option as all other 19 schools my daughter name didn't come in the first list

If I may correct,

Total Seats = 97

Count of Candidates with 80 points and above = 67

Seats Left = 30

Count of Candidates with 70 points = 2481

Therefore, tomorrow's lottery will be to select the remaining 30 children from a pool of 2481 candidates (all tied at 70 points)

No worries, Kapil. Thanks to you.. actually, when I read such a wonderful selection ratio of abt 70 from 800, that got me thinking, but alas, the same results - turned out to be yet another case of 30-40 odd selections from 2000+ candidates. Its the same everywhere :-(

Unless and untill someone has either Alumni or Siblings point, should not expect to be appeared in First list/confirmed selection. And 35 odd selection out of 3000+ pool, is just like a blind bet in a Horse Race..!!
