DOE Delhi has laid down the following neighbourhood criteria for EWS and DG which was implemented from 31.1.2012 after HC Order.
Admission shall first be offered to eligible students belonging to EWS and DG residing within 1 km of the specific school.
In case the vacancies remained unfilled, students residing within 3 km of the school shall be admitted.
If there are still vacancies, then the admission will be offered to other students residing within 8 km of the institution.
Students residing beyond 8 km shall be admitted only in case vacancies remain unfilled even after considering all students within 8 km area.
