still waiting for a strong supportive answer in favour of FAS noida...nothing against it but just wanted to know the mindset of parents who are striving hard to get their kids admitted to FAS noida...Devika if u talk abt discipline and values then there are many other school like cambridge, st. francis , st. thomas where stress is on discipline

Hi Akshi,

You need to first decide as to what are you expectation from a school. Agree to your point for other school's. My feedback:-

Cambridge - Feedback from a teacher that students lack discipline.

St. Thomas - Lack of open space the ground is too small.

St.Francis - Otherwise is good however not into too many extra curricular activities.

These are based on my interaction with parents and my personal views. However, if you look at Fr. Agnel it also provides extra curricular activities, students participate in various inter school tournaments for swimming and football. Has various sport events. If you go to their website it will give you list of various inter house sports, dance, poems, recitation etc competition winners list. Along with that feedback from parents and students are that their methodology is good and teachers concentrate on each kid in the class.

However i still maintain as a parent you need to decide what are your expectations from a school. I studied in a convent school hence probably i'm partial and rate christian school higher for discipline and concentration for command over language. Also, even if you put your child in the most expensive school but if he/she does not perform it would be the worst school as per you as parent and vice versa.

My son is going to Mother's pride play school which a lot of people consider as a money minting machine whereas i'm very happy with the changes in my son. End of the day its about personal choice as well.

in 2012, we applied only for Amity and FAS for our elder daughter ... fortunately she was shortlisted for both ...but we chose FAS because of distance (as we are in 62) and less fees compared to other schools in Noida....Amity is quite far and also my relatives who are in media suggested me to opt FAS only…as per them Amity is jst a gimmick...the school spend lacs of money on advertising and marketing..and thus rated amongst the top schools in Noida......and moreover FAS being a convent school follows a more academic approach -- traditional, structured and teacher-directed-and ofcourse more disciplined........and most importantly we got a very good feedback from other parents whose kids are studying in FAS.. and definetely it is best school in Noida as far as Value for education is concerned.

In 2013, my daughter got selected for DPSN. For me  DPSN was always the first option because of its brand and exceptional academic record..but in 2012 my daughter was not eligible in DPSN due to age criteria.

Let me share my reasons for the switch from FAS:

  1. Teacher student ratio is very high approx 1:40.. And I guess kids don't get personal attention ...I I feel my child lost her self-confidence day by day.. she is always scared of her teachers and classmates as well (might be because she is one of the youngest amongst her peers)
  2. FAS is focussing more on formal reading and math readiness skills, such as learning and writing letter names, numbers and how to count....but I am not quite impressed with the teaching methods they follow …..everyday they are supposed to write alphabets/numbers n paste pictures....i feel its very monotonous for a child to do the same kind of task everyday...i  shd nt say this but unfortunately her class teacher herself has got a very bad handwriting I don't understand how she can make the children write beautifully....
  3. I feel there is very less extra curricular activities ...
  4. It's also true that FAS didn't do great in 12th in the last 3 /4 years..as compared to DPS/Amity/Apeejay..

All the best to u n blessings for your kid..

Hi Rupa,

Thanks for detailed feedback of FAS. Can you please provide the feedback of DPSN in the same way like their leching methodology, student teacher ration, extra curriculum activities etc.

It will be helpful for us. Please provide detailed feedback of DPSN.
