Those parents who already have one child in Amity, would you prefer sending the second one there too? I mean with more choices in schools now, do you think the brand value of Amity has diluted?

I dont think so that the brand value has got diluted...I have my son already studying in AIS, Vausndhara -6, and I want my daughter as well to be admitted there this year.....the point is that they are well established and have all the facilities and good infrastructure at one place....

But what about the soaring academic pressure on little kids in Amity. Kids and their parents are forever busy with assignments, dictations, projects, activities etc. Teachers only do part of their job and most of the explaining and teaching part is left to the parents.

And also the sheer number of kids in Amity Noida. Average 35 kids in each section and 14 sections per class. Personal attention to kids is unthinkable.

The bus fleet is shabby to say the least- they don't even have their own yellow painted buses. They just get transporter buses which are mostly ramshackled, and of course non-AC in this hot weather.

And hygiene in bathrooms is also questionable.

No smart boards in class.

No change in winter timings-kids through out the year from nursery onwards leave home at 7.15 AM.

Their focus is mostly on Academic rigor- which ends up becoming a big source of stress to kids and their parents. In the name of raising the bar, they force challenging stuff on little kids, too early and then keep rushing with concepts, esp. in the case of maths.

Welcome back SKM ..thanks for your valuable inputs :)

I quite agree to your points,we had gone yesterday for the submission of forms and the overall infrastructure was not very impressive.

Divya.. I had heard a lot of amazing stuff about amity's infra.. but I ddnt find it very impressive.. moreover we were not much impressed by the teacher's attitude.. I personally found teachers at Apeejay much more mannered and organized. That's my impression of first visit at school.. maybe I am wrong.

SKM,

Perfect points to consider..

Now, m back to confusion..help

APJ or DPS expressway or Billabong or Amity o..(if selected)

please rate

pls rate the above on the basis of student teacher ration, mix values, sports etc

Nidhi,

Infrastructure of APJ is also not great. I have heard that few week back their roof fall in one of the classroom???

APJ is hardly the same school it used to be earlier. Most of the management went to Lotus Valley a few years back. Huge strength of kids and does not even run buses on major routes, you have to arrange/rent private transport for your kids.

DPS expressway has come up pretty well and gained popularity in a short span of time. Great location and good infrastructure.

Not much idea about Billabong. Amity of course is top of the charts when it comes to Academics. They have a very well planned curriculum and own books until class 5. If studies and studies is all you want for your kid from class 1 onwards, then go for Amity. Also be prepared to spend a lot of time with your ward teaching and preparing him/her.

Any reviews for Amity, Mayur Vihar -I. Is it same, more academically focussed and what about infrastructure, etc.

- Well agreed to a few points....but not all. Having own transportation is again not a must, even schools like DPS have contracted bus services. In fact Amity has few of their own buses and few contracted....it all depends on the route which you fall on. The staff inside the buses are still of Amity's only...they are Non-AC....agreed.

- They have smart boards...of course not in all classes

- Academics is something which I agree that its lots of pressure both on the kid and the parents, and there is no alternative to it. Further in case you have both parents working then it will be a big problem.

- Winter timings are same...again true...but that is for most of the other schools as well...barring a few which start around 30 mins late...

- At least in nursery and KG the ration is still maintained to 1:15 to 1:18 (2 teachers per classroom) but from Ist onwards...yes the class strength is =>35

So at the end of the day...its one's own decision which will drive the final outcome. I mat still stick to Amity for my second kid...as my first kid has settled well with the school and teachers and I consider the same for my second kid as well
