Hello Navin,
My suggestion is you must wait for next year for formal schooling.
Khaitan considers 4+ in Nursery, my ward is the example. March 2011 born... I liked one comment somewhere in this forum..If the student is weak in grasping in earlier classes...he/she could be a weaker student on a longer run...Its more of an investment on the child and trust this will pay.
And do not forget-- Tier II or Tier III cities still follow 3 years Pre- Primary before standard I i.e. Nursery, LKG and UKG so 4+ in nursery (in NOIDA) are still in PAR with them. Trust this helps
Thanks Vishal and Ankit for the insights.
Navin, schools may change criteria next year. If you see the admission criteria for DPS Noida, APJ, FAS, for last year, it was 3-4 yrs, which has been changed to 3.5 to 4.5 yrs. Who knows next year your kid may not be eligible for most of the schools due to change in criteria. I would strongly suggest you to get your kids admitted this year itself. I have the same case , with my daughter being Jan 2012 born, I have got her admitted this year itself.
You can put them in a playschool now as well.. so that they get adjusted in 6 months
4.5 year..only amity and appejay will not take your kids..rest all schools are open..
APJ and Amity are good option.
Don't wait for another year and be the part of rat race.
Navin go with APJ. Dont take risk and waste an year. If you like you can wait for Amity but I will prefer not to take risk.
Hi Navin,
I was in the same boat last year. My daughter was born in January 2011.
This year she was not eligible for some schools. It will be same for you as well and you already know this fact.
But there are many other options, so I don't think this is a big concern.
This year we just applied in Seven schools. We were not called for the interaction in Somerville, DPS-N, FAS Noida.
We applied at Ryan-Noida and has interaction on 17th, she got the seat there but we did not deposit the fee.
Applied at VBPS and had interaction on 15th, Results are yet to be declared, we are hopeful here.
Sunrise Ville applied and had interaction on 20th, she got seat there but we have communicated that we will wait for VBPS results and they are okay with it.
Applied at DAV, our interaction is pending.
Last year, I did not get her admitted in Nursery because I felt she was not ready fro it as she was around two and half year old as admission process happens in September.
I think the age matters in the initial years to grasp / learn new things. If she will not able to match up in early days, She might end up as a weaker student for long time (may be ever).
So I think you can wait.
Thanks a lot Jitendra for taking out some time and replying to this question of mine.
I can say now that i am not the only one who think like this and take some risk.. Actually i also feel that being the youngest in the class may not be good for the child ( just a personal opinion ) ..
But i am bit worried also for the next year after knowing that you did not get call from DPSN, FAS, Sommerville.
So just to be on the safe side, i may opt for the KPS, Noida this year.. and again apply for other schools in the next year..
Thanks alot Jitendra once again . And all the best for VBPS results.. and let me know in which school finally you got her admitted
I knew that DPSN, and Sommerville are not going to call. I was hopeful for FAS but got disappointed.
My daughter has got in Ryan, SunriiseVille and VBPS. So I am not going to attend DAV tomorrow.
I think the hype is for few schools which includes amity, cambridge, apj, DPSN, FAS, Sommerville VBPS, BBPS and few more
Most of the other schools create fake hype to grab money. Seats remain available later as well (January, March/April)
Thanks Anjum for this useful info.
In that case, i will wait for Amity.
