Hi Sanjeev,
Even I was in a similar position a few days ago. I had to choose between Amity Noida & VBPS Noida. Initially I had thought to go for VBPS. I had heard very good reviews about the VBPS mainly that its very good in academics and students develop a strong base there.
But later I thought that it was my daughter who cleared the Amity selection process. She performed well in the interaction. There are days when she does'nt even speak a word in front of others. But that day she was spot on. She chose her destiny and I think that I should come in her way. I went by ratings and people's general view. Brand name carries a lot of significance these days. For e.g. I take interviews for my company. Students not coming from reputed colleges are just rejected from the CV - we don't even interview them. That doen't not mean that students in non-reputed colleges are bad. Its just a perception and we cannot change that.
Also, looking at my daughter's activities I believe that she''ll be good in sports and Amity provides good facilities. During our schooling days academics was given utmost importance. But these days there are ample opportunities. Students can take up any career and only schools which provide max of these facilities can help us identify our child's interest and develop them.
At last, no school is bad. All schools teach the same, but we have to be satisfied that we made the right decision. You must take a decision on whatever makes you feel satisfied.
hello everybody,
I live in vasundhra. My daughter is 2years 10months old and she is a late talker. I really wanted her to get admission in AIS sec1 but she was not able to clear the interaction. I feel very sorry for her because it is actually not her fault, every kid is different. But due to age criteria I am worried what if my kid is not able to get admission anywhere.
I would like to have some information on the below points
Is there any second or waiting list issued by AIS sec1. Till when do they issue there final list.
When is FAS vaishali starting there admission procedure
If we decide to drop this year what are the options available next year as my child will be 4 years old next year. as per my information she will be eligible for jaipuria, DPSN only.
Kindly provide us information on the above as this will help us to arrive at some decision.
Dear Pawandeep,
I would recommend going for a school such as Indus Valley or mayoor where the admission process is less rigorous and also competition is less.
My son is also very shy and same age as your daughter but opened up in Indus valley where interaction happened in a friendly classroom environment rather then in principal's office. However I wont recommend dropping a year. You can always change school lter on if you dont find the school to your liking.
Regards,
Amit
Hi Pawandeep...
My Daughter is also a late talker. People still dont understand a lot of what she says, though she talks full sentences. she is also 2 yrs 10 months old. (dec end born 2011).
Did your daughter go to play school. we enrolled our daughter into one in March this year (very tearfully) and that made quite a lot of difference. initially it was tough and she wept a lot but with time she settled in and now loves to go to school and interacts with her peers well. In short, for us, a play school helped a lot inspite of our daughter being our younger child. Our son is 5.
FAS is opening up a branch in Vaishali sec 1 which should be functional in March April 14. U can try there. U could also send her to Amiown in nursery. this is an Amity playschool and most kids from here are accepted in the Amity school. If u feel shes not coping up, u could have her repeat a year in nursery instead of skipping a year.
Good luck!!
Radhika
yes m agree with u swati. let him settle in prenursery. it makes his base strong .
Dear all,
It seems that most of us are paranoid with rat race.
If the school doesn't call someone then people start criticising the process n their ideology n their fee system,
All of sudden when they got a call they changed n the school start becoming gud for them.
When schools call second list then we criticise .we need to introspect. The forum helps in getting lot of info which everyone accepts.
But once results r out we see people start searching negatives on school who selected them.
I believe if it wasn't a good school then we would not have filled form.
I feel each school is good. N all these sought after schools r private . So one can't see the deterioration in them. Others might supersede them but they remain at same pace.
None of the schools in discussion boast of IITs or CPMT or much seats in DU.
If student teacher ratio matter so much then everybody would have using home tutor n giving exams in open school.
But we want our child be part of better social ecosystem to help them grow along.then what r we seeing n complaining of?
Few people see that schools in discussion wherein kids r engrossed in home work n projects of higher classes. Does someone feelmit leads anywhere? Parents making them instead.
We should focus on basic education n life learnings to make them gud human.
completely agree..all negative points mentioned by parents later was pre-exist, Ideally they should not choose that school at very first day also..Parents should not try to justify own decision or I would say they are trying to impose their decision to others and wanted yes from others..
Narendra,
Where did you finally take admission for you son ?
