Sudhir
I completely second your thoughts. Views differ from individual to individual based on their personal experiences or word of mouth. Different views on the subject is actually creating confusion for the parents rather than guiding them on a good school.
Completely agree Sudhir. Any school you decide upon you get to know some or the other negative feedback. I think it is a little early to decide as most of the schools are yet to share the lists.
Dear Parents, I may sound a bit foolish here and most may not agree with what I am about to say but I am also one of you only and want my daughter to get the best education (not school). Can schools who have 40-45 students in a section provide individual attention to each child (which i think is very important in today's world)? Can they bring out the inherent talent and qualities of your child ? Do they even have the mechanism or the vision that is required to achieve this ? Please do not go blindly by Brand Name. Your child would not be more than just a name on the school registers. Only a few who can withstand the constant mental pressure would survive at the end. Think what the school stands for ? Please don't get into the folly of comparing results of schools that are 20-25 years old with the new ones. The new ones have just begun their innings and their actual results would be visible when the batch that starts from nursery graduates to class 12th.
Ankit,
Whatever you have written is very true. But what other parameters do we have to judge the school? And with such competition, parents actually don't have much choice. We actually take whatever we get. Regarding the pressure on kids, I talk to so many parents and everyone says that school puts a lot of pressure on the kids. I think the flaw here lies with the Indian education knowledge which will just transform kids into bookworms.
Ankit....that is what the point is....we need not compare apple with oranges as it dosen't make any sense. At the end of the day it will be your kid who will be justifying whether the choice you made in terms of your definition of "the perfect school" for him is actually fulfilled or not.
Education business is equally glamorous these days and it does not makes sense to compare schools based on the glitzzy advertisements we see for them all around.....Your kid will perform to his / her abilities only....rest assured...with the kind of infrastructure and glitziness etc that we expect from the school, will just end up raising our bar of expectations from our kid's performance...Needless to say few of these infrastructure brownies are unnecessary and irrelevant....and will also end up us as parents putting up undue pressures...which on the first hand we don't want
So lets keep it simple....whichever school our kids lands up finally....lets just ensure that they have our full backing.....so that they perform as per their abilities.....that's it.....
Well I think we all are just in a panic state. And with internet and blogs present, we have too much information available, which is actually turning out negative because we r now judging schools on petty issues. All we need to do is ... RELAX :)
Try to each and every school, which you think is best and when they choose u,then is the right time to decide between schools rather i also think that if individual attention is given to kid, there is nothing more great than that but base needs to be strong so go for school after judging their classes, merit of teachers and yes most important the education methods,so don't worry if not selected in big schools but go for best space for ur kid for his over all develpoment.
If ur kid is not selected by one school, then it is their bad luck
Chill and just do ur responsibility. No worries as this is not IIMs
