Dear Sakshi/Pankaj, So DOL is used a sort of waiting list,and they will keep on considering the kids with 50 points till all the seats are filled or vacated,Pls confirm my understanding. Thanks

@Ila: Generally after announcing confirmed names..they also come up with some waiting names...If the waiting candidates also reject the seat...The school then holds the decision to allot that seat to any child.

Hi,

Let's discuss it with an example.

This time around Bal Bharati, Pitampura have 194 open seats. And there points criterion is Distance: 50, Alumini 10, Sibling 20, First Born 20.

80 Points is the Maximum any one can score Presuming they reside within the area set, parent/s are alumini and Sibling/First Born points.

So, if 100 candidates score 80 Points they will be automatically selected. 

Now assume there are 500 candidates with 70 points for remaining 94 seats, they will conduct a Draw of Lots. 

Coming to your question of Waiting List criterion, they look at the past trend of how many candidates will back out of the admission sighting different reasons. So they have a set figure of like 5-10%, so to have a back up they will not only pick 94 Chits out of the lot but also for the waiting list too. 

So, let's assume they drew 124 Chits out of 500, first 94 will be selected other 30 will be in the Waiting list.

For schools that require physical submissions of forms along with supporting documents, I understand only self attested copies will do and originals will be required at later stage. However, where notarised affidavit for first born is to be submitted, should we submit original affidavit or a xerox that is self attested. Asking for apeejay, gd goenka, and kr mangalam
