Thanks Sakshi,

I am trying to understand, How does lucky draws works in general(I am guessing it might be school specific)? Is it like 

A. There are separate draws for different categories(sibling, first child, parent alumni) ? In that case

    A.1 What happens to that child who is eligible in all 3 categories ? Does he gets 3 chances or only 1 chance ?

    A.2 What happens to that child who is not eligible in any of the categories(He is a second child  with no sibling and none parents as alumni) ? Is there a separate draw for those category ? 

B. Or there are separate draws on basis of different points(10pts, 20pts, 50pts)

    B.1 Are these draws conducted in the decreasing order of the points ? I mean, will they first try to fill up seats with Max points ? Then moving to next attainable points draw? 

    B.2 What happens to that child who is not eligible in any of the categories(0 pts) ? Is there a separate draw for those category ? OR Will a draw be conducted for this category only if, there is any vacant seats left after 10 pts(Min attainable points) draw was not able to fill in the total seats ? 

There is a bit confusion in this lottery system. It would be great if could clearly specify the general rules of the lottery system.

No its simple, draw of lots happens only based on total points of candidates - no quota system

If number  of vacancy left is less than number of candidates  on same points  ( after all parents with total  higher points than 45 (for example) gets confirm  seats )

For example  60 candidates having 45 points but vacancies left only 15 ( after giving confirm admission to candidates having more than 45 points)

Then lottery only for those 60 candidates only on 45 points for 15 seats .

( If any school is not following point system they will do draw of lots for all candidates who are eligible as per school on basis on neighborhood  ) School specific (some might have quota for siblings /Alumni /boys/ girls)

Like Delhi Govt does only lottery for EWS/DG cat  first 0-1 Km if vacancy left then 1-3 KM then 3-6 km .( No quota for anyone)

What about the original birth certificates copies ? I have my child's Birth Certificate from Punjab, and they generally don't entertain such request of more than 2-3 originals of B.C copies.

In that case, Can we go with colored xerox copies of my child's original BC ?

Normally we recommend 4-5 copies of original BC

But min 3 B.C copies should suffice

You require to submit original B.C at the time of confirm admission (School will keep  original copy till child is studying in school)

They wont accept colored xerox and it should be printed in English

Yes but only APJ SS branch  did not open admissions for nursery from last 2-3 yrs ( reason given but some construction in primary section )

Rest APJ branches in Delhi ( Saket/PP) have been opening Nursery admissions .

Hi,

I heard from a parent at my child's play school that DPS in vasant kunj and vasant vihar will start giving out their admission forms in this month. Is this true? What I know is that all schools in Delhi start giving out admission forms in the months of December and January for the session starting in the following April.

Also will this portal keep updating itself as and when the admn forms are declared open. 

Many questions asked in one post so many thanks in advance for the replies!
