i completely agree with you. i am also facing the same problem. my daughter's name did not appear in the list and my neighbors (having either boy or girl child) got call from spv. i dont know what nonsense is happening in spv

Gaurav does your neighbor know Gujarati or any fourth language ?

no. But my wife is fluent in Punjabi (she is from punjab and knows how to read and write as well)

Dear Gaurav,

I think that you must write an email to them (on spvdelhi@gmail.com) and we should take it upon the DoE website too. There is no transparency in their selection of the wards.

Shalini, going by the narrative as listed by Pankaj, I really dont know what to say and what to do. There needs to be a complete transparency and also that such kind of  reservations based on linguistic priority (and approach) should be considered again by DOE and the courts. It does not make any sense that on one side these schools make reservations for a particular class/segment of the society and on the other side they enjoy the concessions, provisions and the liberties provided by DOE (both state and central), CBSE, NCERT and other responsible institutions. They should not get the benefits of such concessions, provisions.  

It is very frustrating and agonizing for any parent

Same is the case with me too, My wife is also from Punjab and fluent in both reading & writing & speaking Punjabi. Issue is SPV prefer those who knows the Fourth language or those who are Gujarati. This has been their pattern from last few years

As they are linguistic minority schools, they are not bound to follow DOE guidelines because they are exempted by the decision of High Court.

Apart from this, I do agree that they should not make the language as their prior criteria.

My 2 cents

PS: My child is also not selected in that list.

Pankaj, that is exactly what is wrong with such schools. Such schools should be made accountable to DOE by High Court. A PIL should be filed, challenging the reasoning of the previous verdict. We all want our kids to get into the best schools but if such reservations are overlooked or permitted by High Court then it is really depressing

Gaurav,

Being a linguistic minority institution, Sardar Patel school can only enforce preference for people who are able to read and write Gujarati language and not any random fourth language. Do they anticipate many in Delhi to be well-versed in a fourth language? And even if they think that there might be many such cases with highly integrated linguistic backgrounds, they can only give preferences by giving them more points and not just cream skimming them from the rest of the applicants. This appears to be utterly fallacious and deceptive; as a parent community, we must do something about it.

exactly thats my point. There is reservation everywhere and it's hell annoying.

Hi, On the DOE site, hyperlinks are not working for any of the schools, how do we open the list for any particular school? It was working till yesterday.

I just checked , yes most of links on DOE site are not working but few are working so they might be updating ,try after some time or in evening.
