Pls see all post by you, could be some technical glitch at your end.pls repost again.
Thankyou Sakshi.
You did not post it on this thread, you in boxed me, which was sent to Education Minister.
After removing your name.
How else can one explain that out of all the 120 names called, 99% ( or perhaps, more ) of them belonged to a particular community ? Please see this statement in its own merit, as this is not intended to offend anyone at all.
Which community ?
99%, or more, of the names called, were Muslims.
Maybe the school didn't like too much about what had happened, so they changed their minds later, and we got called.
Thankyou so, so much.
Anytime :)
@Rajesh....
ASN list is posted in the mentioned forum by Sakshi....!! You need to dig out a bit though..!!
This post is intended for all those parents who have applied for their child’s admission to Nursery / Pre-School at G D Goenka Public School, Sarita Vihar.
What I am going to relate here is our first hand experience with this school.
We had applied to this school for my twin boys for admission to Nursery / Pre-School, session 2018-19.
We were elated when we were informed that our registration was successful and that my boys’ names were shortlisted for the lottery that was to be held on February 8, 2018, at the school premises.
My wife was physically present at the school during the lottery.
To her utter disappointment, of all the 120 names called on basis of the lottery ( 60 names of whom were put on the Waiting List ), our childrens’ names did not come up. The lottery itself reeked of a scam and seemed rigged, as the chits being picked up were all on the top of all the chits, and no shuffling was taking place.
How else can one explain that out of all the 120 names called, 99% ( or perhaps, more ) of them belonged to a particular community ? Please see this statement in its own merit, as this is not intended to offend anyone at all.
Then, imagine my surprise, when, on February 10, 2018, I received a call from the school, informing me that I could go over to the school with all the original documents for verification. When I told the lady who was calling, that my boys’ names had not come up in the lottery, she said that if I submitted the original documents for verification, my boys would stand a better chance of selection in the final list if other parents opted out in favour of other school. Needless to say, I was extremely surprised by this development as their names hadn’t even figured in the list of wait-listed candidates.
Nevertheless, totally elated, I went to the school and submitted all the documents for verification.
Just a couple of hours back today, I got a call from the school, informing me that both my boys had been selected for admission to Nursery, and that, starting tomorrow, till February 19, I could deposit the fees to confirm their admission.
On asking the lady on the phone whether they would be putting up the list of shortlisted candidates for nursery either on the school notice board or on their website ( almost all the schools are putting up their FIRST list of successful candidates tomorrow / February 15 ), I got a terse “NO” as an answer from her.
My questions :
Some parents who live in the same area as we do, ( Greater Kailash 2 ) have also been called to deposit the fees before February 19 to confirm the admission. Is this something to do with the area we live in ? I can only conjecture, as most of the people who attended the lottery, seemed to be staying in areas adjoining the school, and to repeat, from a particular community.
When I persisted with my train of questions with the lady from the school today, she snapped rudely at me, saying, in Hindi … to quote : “ Dekhiye, aana hai toh aao, verna mat aao. Yeh aapka problem hai, hamara nahin.” ( Come if you wish to, or don’t. It is your problem, not ours )
All I wanted to know was whether or not they were putting up a list of the successful candidates. What was so upsetting about this question ?
Lastly, if people in the front office, who are dealing with the public at large as the school’s interface, become spiteful and rude, what kind of image are they portraying of the school ? What must the faculty be like then ?
We are thankful to God that our twins have made it to one of the best schools in Delhi, or we, as parents, would have been extremely worried about putting them here, given my experience with the school today. Add to that my wife’s experience with the school on the day of the lottery.
G D Goenka has earned the reputation of being a very good school, so isn’t this behaviour an exact opposite to what the brand stands for ? This assumes even more significance as this particular school is yet to outgrow its milk teeth, and they can ill-afford to spoil this just yet.
I am highlighting the total lack of transparency adopted by the school and the manner in which Admissions to Nursery has been conducted.
I hope all parents’ reading this post stand better informed now.

Sakshi, I have a query
If we are in waiting list of some school, and if any confirmed person doesn't take admission, then how can we track that school has given seat to eligible waitlist candidate only. School can give that seat to candidates of its Choice ?
How can we track that school is giving admissions to genuine eligible waitlist candidates ?
Yukti
Most of Established/Good schools will put waiting list and you can follow up after last date for first list confirmed admissions or earlier n follow up regularly.
Rest about erring school i cannot say anything how they will react.
We didn't lodge any complaint with the school after the lottery took place. It was just a question of bad luck, as we felt then, that their names didn't figure in the lottery. Although my wife did realize at that time, that the whole lottery thing was an eye-wash, given that almost all the names were from a particular community and that only those chits were being called out which were on the top of the fish bowl, and that too without shuffling.
